What's New in 1.3

Version 1.3 — Steam Cloud support plus a round of fixes and polish.

NEW

• Steam Cloud: saves sync automatically across PCs.
• New option (Visual Feedback): toggle the resource counter flash/pulse on gain.
• New audio option "Mute in background": silences the game when alt-tabbed (off by default).

BALANCE

• Late-game machines buffed: Excavator 35→60, Mechanical Worm 50→90, Annihilator 100→190 base DPS.
• Furnace Boost: +5% per level (was +4%) and cost mult ×1.10 → ×1.08. Level 100 now costs ~2.8M for +500% speed (was ~13.8M for +400%).
• Mastery cost reductions ("Machine & Furnace Discount", "Expansion Plans") are now additive: −10% per level, reaching −90% at L9 (was −61% via compounding). Existing levels apply the new math automatically.
• Spawn rates: copper bumped in Topsoil (7.5→10%) and Sedimentary (7.5→12.5%); tin in Sedimentary (3.7→4.2%). Rock/granite/dirt reduced accordingly.
• Skill rework: "Prospector" → "Quarry Master". Now grants bonus stone on deep blocks (basalt +3, lithurge +2, core +5, armored +2, lava +1, core fragment +3, raw veinstone +1) — fixes the post-2800m stone drought. Existing levels carry over.

FIXES

• Machine tooltips synced with actual DPS values. Annihilator no longer mentions its old 8s cooldown.
• Trade panel: prices recompute at click time (fixes stale-price issue when Material Value changes mid-panel).
• Events claimed counter is now a lifetime counter (was resetting per prestige, blocking Event Hunter).
• Stats panel: ore icons show the full ore sprite, not just the rock background.
• World map: "Total spent" tooltip relabeled "Spent on new land".
• Smeltery: BUY-furnace button moved under the sprite. Furnace Boost card shows your money balance on the right.
• Smeltery money tooltip uses the same 2-line format as the world map.
• French: standardized inconsistent terms for "row".
• Rich Vein / Ultra Rich Vein no longer multiplies trading payouts.
• Trade panel: added padding so top/right buttons aren't clipped.
• Critical: balances over 9.2 quintillion no longer wrap to negative and lock the player out (costs and balances now use float math throughout).

What's New in 1.2 — Idle Deepcore

Thanks for digging deeper! 1.2 focuses on graphics performance, several UI irritants, and a balance pass on furnaces and abyssal cores.

INTERFACE

•

• World map: biome info and chunk details split into two clearer panels, with an opaque scrim behind so labels are easier to read.
• World map — new heatmaps Off / Depth / Speed in the top right. Blue→yellow→red gradient based on the metric.
• Preferences: new "Screen shake" toggle to disable every screen shake in the game.
• Preferences: new "Discovery animations" toggle — kills the white flash and slide-from-bottom of the new-resource popup (the card just fades in at its final position).
• Event sound volume separated from SFX and music.
• Skill tree tooltips reworked (gold titles, better spacing).
• Pickaxe / machine tab tooltips: follow the language live and clamped to the viewport.
• Stats window: icons added for smelted resources (ingots, lenses, pure veinstone, alloy, core) with aligned labels.
• Smeltery: "Fuel" label now updates live when you buy Fuel Mastery.
• STATS button visible from the start of the game.

PRESTIGE & MASTERY

• Prestige window: new summary panel on the right showing the level and total bonus of each of the 6 mastery nodes.
• "Machine & furnace discount" renamed "Master Engineer".
• "Abyssal Core" tooltip: now states that cores ignore smelt bonuses.
• Depth points counter tooltip: shows the actual interval after the Depth Intuition bonus.

BALANCING

• Furnace price multiplier: ×1.5 → ×1.4 per furnace of the same type.
• Jackhammer: base damage 3 → 4.
• Machine Damage upgrade: +2 → +1.5 per level.
• Machine Synergy upgrade: +5% → +1% per adjacent machine per level.
• Abyssal Cores: no longer affected by smeltery skill-tree bonuses (1 smelt = 1 core).
• Abyssal Shards: spawn rate ×10 (≈ one Shard per 50m instead of 500m past 10,000m), bringing a prestige cycle down to ~5 km.
• Worm / Annihilator / Excavator: switched from split-damage to additive weighted — total per-attack emission is now ×25 (Worm), ×30 (Annihilator), ~×8 (Excavator) instead of ×1. Big machines finally outpace stacked jackhammers in endgame.
• Big machines now crack Abyssal Shards faster: Seismic Hammer ×1.2, Blast Furnace Drill ×1.3, Excavator ×1.5, Mechanical Worm ×2.0, Annihilator ×3.0.
• Prestige starting pack: ×10 on every base resource granted (was ×4 in the previous patch). Same tiers, same scaling — the goal is to make each prestige feel rewarding from the first second and avoid having to grind clicks all over again to rebuild your machines.
• Upgrade base costs cut: Machine Speed 15→10 bronze ingots, Machine Damage 10→6 steel ingots (multipliers unchanged). Lower entry barrier so the early levels of these upgrades feel more accessible.

FIXES

• Furnace compact view: now persisted per furnace type.
• Auto-clicker more responsive on rapid multi-block sweeps (clicks/sec cap still respected).
• Language picker that reappeared at every launch: fixed.
• Depth indicator: removed the per-mine yield % shown next to the biome name (redundant info).
• Trade window tooltip: live refresh and clamped to the right edge.
• "New resource unlocked" popup: cleaned of vestigial upgrades.
• Admin depth-jump button: now credits Abyssal Shards and applies harvest bonuses.
• Admin "+1M / +1B of each" button: routes through the standard pipeline.
• Background mines speed (heatmap): no longer overshoots with absurd numbers.
• Manual save: custom slot name is pre-filled on the next Save.
• Save dates (Load screen): shown in your local timezone instead of UTC.
• Skill tree: depth points counter now refreshes live when a point is earned with the panel open.

PERFORMANCE

• Massive performance boost on the focused mine (ore halo rendering on walls and background moved to GPU).
• Ore sprites drawn with their natural PNG color for better contrast.

Progression feels too fast and because of that, it expedites itself into mediocrity. A prestige system should not allow you to have twenty times the amount of a resource that you need to enact the next prestige only to gate you behind a normal gameplay model that doesn't feel much improved than it's pre-prestige state. Because it's too easy to prestige the first time, the subsequent ones feel even less relevant and you find yourself cycling through prestige restarts with absolutely no sense of fulfilment as the player.

The individual map tiles were quite inconsequential regarding the type of mineral deposit bonuses they had. Instead it became a rush to just move outward toward any direction to simply gain generic improvements. There's so much room for improvement on the map such as events, encounters (of some type), or anything other than the boring "select a spot, mine a spot" mechanic it currently presents.

A couple of the mining equipment varieties are objectively worse than the starting jackhammers. That needs adjustment because their cost isn't commensurate with their output. The late stage equipment moves so fast visually that it's painful to look at the screen. There's just something missing regarding a satisfactory visual style.

Dev needs to change the UI size so that all mineral types fit on the screen without the need to scroll. Overall, the mineral types are fun for the first few smelting opportunities because it's methodical and paced logically. The later stage ores and smelted materials just become irrelevant because they are attained so swiftly and progressed through so rapidly. They feel inconsequential other than a numerical variable geared towards simply opening up more boring map tiles.

Something's wrong with the pacing and the prestige loop. Maybe some of what I've mentioned above can help pinpoint what those things are, but it seems like it could be really fun if some parts slow down, others speed up, and prestige is reworked to make it feel impactful.

Overall I liked it and enjoyed that it was somewhat more of an idle experience.

Some suggestions:

- Make machine stats update their values after modifiers. A jackhammer starting at 4 damage is meaningless after even one damage upgrade, and there are a few different ways for machine damage to be affected. Show us the true values.

- Have more of a definitive end to the game beyond a money achievement. Even if it's just a cutscene after a certain depth is reached.

- Add a better incentive to prestiging beyond the mastery system. Clicking is irrelevant after the first 10 minutes of the game, so upgrading click power as the only mechanical benefit from prestiging is busywork.

- Add some kind of way to scan and highlight resources on the map. Even if this is a prestige/mastery mechanic. Trying to find iron, one of the most necessary resources, is annoying since it blends in with another resource on the map, and a lot of tiles have resources that don't show up visually.

- Add a % based sell button. Maybe 50%? At some point, you're wanting to sell more than 1000 of a resource, but after 1000, the only option is all.

PSA: Mastery upgrades have to be taken one at a time, and each is a reset.

I totally didn't just find that out the hard way after spending some extra time to make 47 abyssal cores (enough to take all the upgrades in the mastery tree), only to only be allowed to spend ONE of them and have the rest go to waste.

Counterintuitive Scaling

Love this game, and I'm not even really complaining because it isn't hampering anything per se...but 10x jackhammers with all upgrades applies (Tier 1 Machine) digs SIGNIFICANTLY faster and better than the Annihilator (Max Tier Machine). I get by very easily, already on prestige 7, using just Jackhammer x10, Seismic Hammer x5, and Blast Furnace Drill x3 + Steam Drill +1 combinations. If I ever use Excavators or Annihilators, it's for pure funsies. The Mechanical Worm is straight garbage. I think the large ...

Autoclick 20/s Achievment

This takes...way too long. Even in stonemines i hardly get 3 mil stones. But when i need 6 mil stones for 0,1 upgrade at 15 clicks /s its just ridiculous

Hit play in steam and a black window opens for about 10 secs then closes and game never starts. anyone have any clue why this is?
