Take a look. Downloadable WORKING copy on modern OS (i still run w7 ultimate 64 bit but...)
One of the devs modified it to run, and yes, even on multyplayer, and yes, there is an active community, for what i can tell.

Too bad I haven't had the time to try it out but I bet some of you will :)
