AVP 2 is a first person shooter that allows the player to pick between three factions in campaign and multiplayer modes.The factions are predators, aliens and marines.

Marines use radar and weapons such as knives, assult rifles and machine guns. When trapped in the dark, a marine can throw a flare, use a flashlight or night vision but this quickly use up battery.

Predators use stealth and distance weapons to defended themselves. They sneak up on humans or aliens and backstab them.

Aliens are the most maneuverable faction. They can climb walls, pounce on players and bite their heads off when least expected.

Multiplayer mode involved two factions facing against each other in a variety of game modes. Today no servers are available.
