The United States enjoyed a period of expansion unseen before in human in history. 48 states were created within 40 years but in 1796 the federal government, over flown with crisises from all over the country, collapsed under its own weight. Every U.S. state had left the Union. The Great Experiment had ended. Now it is a new century. Will the U.S. be lost to history as the states replace it? or will the United State's freedom ring once more?
