NGame Faction Wars Space Engineers Steam Group

Welcome to our Space Engineers server group,

We are a waring factions server and will remain so. While we are a waring factions server, we do cater to all sorts of players. Mining and Salvage factions are highly sought factions by a waring faction. As are trading, building, moving and hauling factions.

Trading between factions is allowed and encouraged. I'm working on a way to track current values for items on the server. I also encourage factions to make and maintain allies incase a stronger faction attacks.

It's been a pleasure and fun to play with you all on our old SE server. There were a couple of reasons that I had to shut it down.
The first was Hurricane Matthew, which totalled our home and Marine Animal Rescue. All of the repairs to both our home and my rescue have fallen on me. Which has stretched me rather thin.
Second - Space Engineers has begun moving in a direction I don't entirely aggree with. Instead of addressing bugs, server issues and game performance. They've begun adding new features. In my humble opinion they're not moving forward but rather sideways.
Thirdly - Some of you are already aware that I began protyping my own game sometime during the last summer. During this protyping period, I began to notice that my Space Engineers game play was slowly working it's way into my game protype. This was the last thing I wanted, I want my game to be original. My admins and I have put a ton of time and work into the games backstory.

Regarding this gaming group - I'm considering closing it down. Group member response will be a huge influence on this. Depending on which members actually read this notice and comment that they would like to be members of my next group. Will help to determine whether or not this group stays alive.

NGame Studios - NGame no longer exist, I've sold the rights to that name to another gaming company. Who we were arguing with over the name. Doing so created a whole new organization which our other group will be named after. It's name will be BSARR, pronounced Bizarr gaming. I honestly would like to see some or most of you guys ask to join that group.

Those interested in joining that group and helping with our pre-alpha game testing should send me a steam message asking to do so.

Over the past week I've been testing our servers performance. I am aware of all of the tricks to bring server performance up.

Limiting Grid Size
Limiting the amount of drills being used
Limiting the amount of refineries/assemblers etc.

None of these have worked. My first thought after that was that there was a dirty mod, or a memory leaking mod. This would have been the easiest fix to the server. So I began removing mods from the server, starting with the latest added mods. With no luck.

I moved from mods to looking threw the server's log files and while there are mod errors from nearly every mod we use on our server. There was no clue there as to the drop in our sim speed.

At this point, I copied our entire server over to our test server. Players, ships, stations, factions etc. Everything was copied to begin experimenting with our servers sim speed. The good news.....I was able to duplicate exactly the same server sim speed with our test server as we have with our dedicated server.

The bad news - I've gone entirely through our servers files. I've removed everything, planets included as shown here - Test Server

Nothing has changed the server's sim speed Including adding server memory and resources except one thing. That is removing all the players ships. This lead me to believe that a player ship or station is using an unauthorized script.
So I disabled in game programming and left the players ships. Still no change in the server's sim speed.

things I've done to test the sim speed that have had absolutely no effect on it are as follows -

Disabled ingame programming/scripts - No effect
Removed all mining and drills from the server - No effect
Removed all large grids that had production facilities - No effect
Removed all Large Ships - No effect
Removed all Small Ships and grids - No effect
Removed all encounter and pirate items - No effect
Removed all mods from the server - No effect
Removed all planets - No effect
Removed all asteroids - No effect

Removed all player related items except the factions hall and Pica city. Sim speed increased to 1.00.

Results - This is a game issue and not a server issue as our provider has stated. So while our server is at a stable state, unless we don't want to add anything to our map. Player built ships etc, we simply have to deal with the issue. I am sorry for any inconvience all I will continue to monitor the situation and look for an answer to it.
