Hello!

If you are here, you are looking for games without magic in them! In order to manage expectations and let you know what to expect, this post will outline some of the things that will be considered "magic" and earn a "not recommended" from this group page, as well as what will earn an "informational" or a "recommended" review. Feel free to reach out. I will likely add an F.A.Q. section at the end of the post at a later date.

Not Recommended
If a game has received a "Not recommended" review from this group, that means that at least one aspect of the game is magic based and necessary for game play. Examples may be that you have to cast spells or curses, have skills that cost mana, or some of the characters you are forced to interact with are demons. There are games that are entirely magic based. There are games that have no magic with the exception of one necessary aspect. Both will receive a "not recommended" rating.

Informational
This review type will be used for games that have magic in them, but you don't have to use it. For instance, if a game has a healing spell, but you are not required to use it, or a game has the option to "make a deal with the devil" but you could decline, that would earn an "informational" review. The extent of magic will usually be noted in the review.

Recommended
Recommended games have no magic whatsoever. These games are usually sci-fi, but are not always! There will be no spells, no cursing people, no demons, and no magical beings. All aspects of the game will be explained scientifically and/or logically. Examples can be a creepy antagonist with powerful abilities is not a demon, but an alien. Being able to move things from a distance or manipulate objects is due to psycho-kinetic ability rather than a spell or offering to a dark being. These non-magical games will receive a "recommended" review from this group.

Something to clarify: things like God, angels, or invoking God's wrath, will not be considered "magic." However, if they are twisted or distorted versions, such as a "fallen angel," they will still be considered "magic." I will likely usually note them in the reviews if they are present, in case anyone disagrees with this policy.
