As some of you may know there is a epidemic of a virus going around on computers globally called "WannaDecrypter" or "WannaCry" . Its ransomeware that locks you out of your system, encrypts your files and ask you to pay money to unlock them; There are a few ways you can protect your self against this virus but the first thing I'd reccomend is installing ALL windows updates because the backdoor which the virus uses has been patched, even after you have done this I still reccomend getting good Anti-Virus like Kapersky, BitDefender or Malwarebytes.

If you get infected with the virus its best not to pay the ransom as what will most likely happen is you wont recieve a key, and the transaction isn't and won't be traceable because the virus forces you to pay in BitCoins; but if you are infected I recommed that you PHYSICALLY disconnect your system from your network and contact the police.There is essentially nothing that can be done to decrypt your files if you are one of the infected as the virus/worm sends the key back to the hackers and deletes any trace of it locally.
