From 2017 to 2025, Tornado Wranglers served as the original identity of our storm chasing team, founded by Thunder and Drew. What began as a shared passion quickly grew into a dedicated effort to document tornadoes, collect vital storm data, and chase with purpose, safety, and integrity.

For nearly a decade, this name represented our vision and commitment to the storm chasing community.

However, in 2024, due to confusion and unforeseen associations with the film Twisters, the Tornado Wranglers name became the subject of unwanted attention and misrepresentation—something outside of our control but serious enough to warrant a new beginning.

In 2025, we officially rebranded as the Tornado Warhawks, ushering in a new era of tactical storm chasing, advanced fleet coordination, and scientific mission focus.

Hey @everyone

After serious discussion and a tough call by the staff, we’re officially changing our team name from Tornado Wranglers to Tornado Warhawks.

*Why the change?*
As some of you may know, the name Tornado Wranglers was recently used in the film Twisters. Since then, it’s brought confusion and attention we didn’t ask for and don’t want attached to our team’s identity. To preserve what we’ve built and keep control of our own direction, we’ve decided to rebrand.

This wasn’t an easy decision — the Wranglers name has been with us through a lot, and it will always be part of our history. But moving forward, we’re proud to continue as the Tornado Warhawks — a name that keeps the TornW spirit alive while representing strength, precision, and coordination in the field.

What stays the same?
:green_check: Our mission: serious storm ops with strong coordination.
:green_check: Our team structure: nothing changes internally.
:green_check: Our fleet and custom vehicles.
:green_check: Our branding and logo, updated for the new name.
:green_check: Our values of teamwork, realism, and professionalism.

This is not a reset — it’s an evolution. Everything we built as Tornado Wranglers is now soaring forward under the Warhawks name.

What’s next?

- Server Overhaul
In the next few weeks, the Discord will be restructured — cleaner layout, better channel flow, and a stronger foundation for chases.

- Scheduled Chases & Team Activity
We’re entering a more active phase, with regular chase events, clearer coordination, and more chances to get involved — whether in the field or behind the scenes.

- Reinforced Identity
With the Warhawks name locked in, we’ll be unifying visuals, documentation, and fleet elements to reflect our upgraded identity.

To everyone who’s been part of this team, thank you. The Tornado Wranglers name will always mean something to us, but this new chapter is just getting started.
