There WAS a group aiming to restore the L4D1 beta - but the "creator" (used loosly) had an enormous ego-inflation from the attention gain of his favorite age-group (10-year-olds) that caused the downfall of the project and it's beloved and talented developers to pack up and leave. As of now, he is cocky, air-headed and toxic towards anybody that asks a question.
