Ever since its conception, the Equilibrium config has always strived for one goal above all: increasing the playing standards of the players and teams, by placing more demand on better input and heightened teamwork. We know and understand what L4D2 really is: an asymmetrical versus game of which it is impossible to attain 'perfect balance' (because duh, it's asymmetrical!). It is also a psychological game, where hacking your mind and becoming more of a thinking player will benefit you enormously regardless of what you play.

The choice of name for the config was actually a double-entendre: a sarcastic reference towards both sides of the game achieving that elusive 'perfect balance' that some hope would be true (when we know full well that it's false), but also a hidden meaning of where better balance is achieved not directly because of tinkering with a config, but when players and teams actually better themselves by adapting and increasing the level of input and psychology they place in the game. And how do we do that? By making the config less lenient and less tolerant in terms of mistakes and sloppy play, for both survivors and infected.

The EQ config is an acquired taste; it separates the men from the boys, the women from the girls, and the lions from the sheep. Why? Because real improvement comes from abandoning all artifice, the crutches you depend on, the shackles that weigh you down and the rampant ignorance that so easily infests the minds of this community. Riding on minimal effort and abusing exploits will not save you in Equilibrium, nor will making excuses of the "I don't like..." variety. Adapt or fail, take your pick.

If you're a naysayer who only has motivation for spouting your bias and self-opinionated views without an iota of objectivity to weigh yourself down with, if you are someone who lacks the vision to look beyond your own personal preferences, if you would rather fill yourself with delusion than embrace reality, if you would rather wallow in your conformation to normality than stand up and make a real difference, then this group is not for you.

But if you are a member of the global L4D2 community who desires to see the current decline in playing standards reverse and go upwards, if you want to legitimately fulfil your potential as a player and/or a team in competitive L4D2 instead of merely pretending, if you claim to want to see the community advance and make true progress, then it's in your best interest to join this group and show your support.
