I have been informed that ZES member Charles Osei-Fosu, known during his time in ZES as lilweapon, passed away in april of 2020.

On this day 10 years ago 3 young men decided to create a standard. A standard of high level play in an otherwise casual game.

Zombie Escape was just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around. Sure, there were some distinguished players, but nothing to strive for, nothing to achieve. Until Zombie Escape Squad. From then on whenever you hovered of the backs of the people in front of you to see who was kicking that much ass, the ZES tag was visible at the start of their names.

It was a new start.

Suddenly you could have a concrete goal in this previously hard-to-define game.
Suddenly the hundreds of hours you put into it could pay off.
Suddenly there was a community of people pushing the game to the next level.

And it was wonderful.

10 years later these 3 boys are all grown up and moved on, but their legacy remains. The impact that ZES left on gameplan and community in Zombie Escape is undeniable. Thanks to Fuu, Belafarinrod and Freeze for starting this ♥♥♥♥ and to every single member of ZES for having an impact on a game we all loved at some point.

I hope that in 10 years I'll be able to look back as fondly on what we built together and give you my thoughts then as well.
