“Snoo,” originating from the reddit.com alien was a symbol for “communities.” No matter which subreddit, or large community you'd see on reddit, you'd always see Snoo. Snoonet was created for communities to gather under one roof, not bound by Freenode or other non-reddit related networks' policies.
