On December 14th. the servers will take their last breath.
This isn't a joke or some weird way of asking for help. This is really happening: Starless is shutting down. And when I say "shutting down", I mean all the servers will be taken offline while the website will continue to operate normally for the foreseeable future.

It's weird to think that this all started back in 2010 when my brother asked me to host a Garrys Mod server. He basically just wanted a server where we could be admins, have other players join and not be forced to let our own client run if we had to go do something.
It quickly grew from a server that I just ran whenever we wanted, to a server that people happily returned to again and again. Then in 2011 I used my already existing domain Starless.dk for a forum and renamed the server from the intelligently named Cloneserver to Starless.

Some people who are still with us today are directly responsible for Starless ever becoming more than a single server with 2 guys drunk on power. There's obviously Yanke$ who made our custom maps and even a complete admin mod, Xahni with his deep pockets and all the admins who's helped keep our servers a pleasant place to stay over the years.
More recently it's been Slaugh7er with his many custom addons and tweaks that made the old Alpha server very popular and who's been making the current DarkRP server very much a custom experience.
And the forum... Ah yes, there's been some weird discussions and silly drama going on in there.

It can be hard to let go of something that's taken so many hours of your life, while at the same time given you so many hours of fun. However, there's just no way for me to justify letting Xahni pay for a dedicated server when we're not even using it.
So ultimately the choice isn't that hard to make.

I hope to see all of our faithful members around on the forums and on Steam in the future.
