Early Access Review
**Edited @ 110 Hours**

Overall, big improvements from POE 1, infinitely better than Diablo 4, tough to choose between Diablo 3 and POE 2, would have to say Diablo takes the cake for lore and cinematics but POE 2 actually has a nicer gameplay loop and friendlier communicty.

If you are coming from POE 1, there are lots of changes which you might not like, I played alot of POE 1 and the way they have changed gems, crafting, refills and flasks has cucked me and many other players. This is the key reason I'm not scoring the game higher, but I also will not let a few mechanics that should have been implemented drive home my entire judgement of the game as that would be biased from an OG players perspective.

My biggest issue is the limitations of Flasks and how they have restricted crafting to *mostly* RNG, I think this will change though as they have been quite reactive to playerbase feedback so I will leave my score tentative and update in the coming months following major patches.

If this is your first dungeon grinding, demon slaying looter game OR you are coming from Diablo - you will love it and there is so much more customisation you have access to along with a much better challenge in difficulty and wide range of endgame events compared to similar style games.

NOW here's the tough part - IF you enjoy being able to play games straight out of the box. Please do everyone a favour and read the Early Access Label. This is not a full release game, I have had many frustrations with server lag beyond 2 players in an instance, crashing, screen tearing that makes the game unplayable AND losing trial progress or campaign progress due to soft locking.

The thing is - I am not letting those things contribute to my scoring of this game, because unlike the majority of players complaining... I understand this game is in early access. If you enjoy the game OUTSIDE of bugs, and don't want to deal with the bugs, put it down for a couple of months, refunding or complaining will only negatively affect the games progression and success.

Once the cakes in the oven, you gotta wait, take it out early and you'll be sad.

Here's my overall breakdown;

---{ Graphics }---
☐ You forget what reality is
☑ Beautiful
☐ Good
☐ Decent
☐ Bad
☐ Don‘t look too long at it
☐ MS-DOS

---{ Gameplay }---
☑ Awesome gameplay, very interactive and challenging bosses - keeps you on your toes
☐ Good
☐ It's just gameplay
☐ Mehh
☐ Watch paint dry instead
☐ Just don't

---{ Audio }---
☐ Eargasm
☐ Very good
☑ Good - Big upgrade from POE 1 - Doesn't quite beat Diablo 3, but Diablo 4 is a joke so?
☐ Not too bad
☐ Bad
☐ I'm now deaf

---{ PC Requirements }---
☐ Check if you can run paint
☐ Potato
☑ Decent - No major requirements here, you can enjoy the game easily on low-mid graphics
☐ Fast
☐ Rich boi
☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer

---{ Game Size }---
☐ Floppy Disk
☐ Old Fashioned
☐ Workable
☑ Big - No where near as bad as Blizzard or other AAA games
☐ Will eat 10% of your 1TB hard drive
☐ You will want an entire hard drive to hold it
☐ You will need to invest in a black hole to hold all the data

---{ Difficulty }---
☐ Just press 'W'
☐ Easy
☐ Easy to learn / Hard to master
☐ Significant brain usage
☑ Difficult - infinitely harder than Diablo - some bosses give DS3, up to 20 retries in a 4 man group, If you are a child or like your games to be more like black mirror bandersnatch - Go play a tell tales game or install Diablo / Fortnite.
☐ Dark Souls

---{ Grind }---
☐ Nothing to grind
☐ Only if u care about leader boards/ranks
☐ Isn't necessary to progress
☑ Average grind level - Not too much grind in the early game, the late game has an average amount for an ARPG, my only issue is that the grind is only tiresome and unenjoyable with the current lag and crash issues the game is experiencing but I'd like to have faith they will smooth this out over the next month or two.
☐ Too much grind
☐ You'll need a second life for grinding

---{ Story }---
☐ No Story
☐ Some lore
☐ Average
☐ Good
☑ On par with Diablo - cutscenes are mid but actual lore is very well written and thought out
☐ It'll replace your life

---{ Game Time }---
☐ Long enough for a cup of coffee
☐ Short
☐ Average
☑ Long - Again, lots of replayability and event content
☐ To infinity and beyond

---{ Price }---
☑ It's free after release so you can wait - But worth investing for early access
☐ Worth the price
☐ If it's on sale
☐ If u have some spare money left
☐ Not recommended
☐ You could also just burn your money

---{ Bugs }---
☐ Never heard of
☐ Minor bugs
☑ Can get annoying - Most of my recently found frustrations have been with bugs, there are a few things they need to address - Visual tearing, consistent game crashing, and the biggest one personally, multiplayer servers / fps optimisation. The game is sadly currently unplayable with more than 2 people as the game speed slows down to about 20% for everyone and consistently freezes.
☐ ARK: Survival Evolved
☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs

---{ 8 / 10 }---
☐ 1
☐ 2
☐ 3
☐ 4
☐ 5
☐ 6
☐ 7
☑ 8 (For now... TBC)
☐ 9
☐ 10
