Starfield is a Good Bethesda game, but it's not a perfect Bethesda game.

I would put it on the same level as Fallout 4. This game has a lot of jank, lack of accessibility, some poor UI and other normal issues seen in Bethesda games but all the bad in it just isn't enough to stop me from keep playing. (surprisingly little bugs)

I think it's important to set expectations though. This game is not a space-sim it's also in a world that's not traditional to Bethesda's style. It handles exploration differently than usual in a more guided way, you still get sidetracked a lot and have a quest log that's massive and random encounters are still present in space and on the ground but it's handled slightly differently. I don't think that's a bad thing though it's just different. This game is like a Mix of Outer Worlds, Mass Effect, Skyrim and Fallout but with the Bethesda style we know and love. For sure I think most people expected a bit more, for this game to be as great and innovated as Skyrim was but it isn't, it's a similar formula with similar execution but it does lack particulary in the exploration which is the weakest part of the game. When you are a following a quest or what not It's quite enjoyable but the 2nd you go off rails to explore random points it's disappointing due to the repetitive nature.

The game also takes a bit to get going, there is so much information in this game and so many places, mechanics etc that it's extremely overwhelming and the game doesn't really help you with any of it, it takes easily 3-5 hours to actually open up and you still feel lost and no idea what to do cause of choice paralysis. However it also rewards you as you play. Todd "God" Howard said the more you put into Starfield the more you get out of it and that's 100% accurate. You constantly are getting new things to do and as you start to understand the systems and the game itself you start having a blast. It will vary but for me it took i'd say hour 10 for me to properly start really enjoying myself and from there on it just kept going and going.

This game has a lot of good and bad in it but the bad never leaves while the good keeps getting added on. The Factions, Soundtrack, gun play, scale, quest, encounters, space ships, vibes it's all here and done amazingly and I could go on about but you should experience it. Also the new game plus is very interesting and a great inclusion to the game. Not many do something like this.

If you wanted a Bethesda RPG set in space with all the good and bad that comes with it, then this is for you else wait for mods.

Also my tip, avoid using the galaxy map to travel. Bethesda lets you skip the space ship part of the game for the most part and I've seen this come up in reviews that the game is all menus, when it can be but only by choice. Take off on your ship, open your scanner and manually select a planet or system and go from there. It will do wonders for your immersion and discovery of fun random encounters.
