I used to play DEMO before, so I completed only the first boss.
And I added the game to my wish list. When I played the full game and defeated the first boss, I was kinda annoyed that when you die, you have to start over and over again. But it reminded me of playing games on my SEGA in the early 90s. Once you turn it off, you will have to start over again.
Anyway, the progression in-game is quite interesting, so sometimes I even tried to die fast to go back and upgrade my perk.
Fights are quite dynamic. And difficult. I have struggled with the last boss so much. In the end, I killed it with the most "coward" way (kept a range and shot with my powerful attacks of the bow).
The story is amazing!
I spent 15 hours completing the main story and rescuing all allies.
Very soothing graphics and environment.

I am not a fan of "extraction" games. Tho this game feels like fun. My score would be something in a middle so I will list what I like and what I don't:
+ gameplay (looting, progression, shooting mechanics, environment, NPCs etc.);
+ graphics;
+ optimization;
+ guns and gear well balanced.

- becomes boring too fast (66 missions by nerds can be done in 4-5 days);
- storyline is very poor (maybe that's the way it supposed to be);
- progression is too fast as well;
- after completion of progression and missions, people just start griiefing each other (because there is nothing else to do);
- price is a bit high as for a 50 hours gameplay.

I bought this game long time ago, in 2015 or 2016, I don't remember. And finally decided to play it in 2025 :)
In gerela it's cool game. Story is not exciting but not bad at all, I liked it. Whoever says that it's gets boring to fast because you have to click same buttons and run in circles, let me ask if it's not the same as in every single RPG :)
I planned to do ALL STARTS on each level and dungeon but longer I play, more annoying challanges are, almost impossible to complete. Closer to the end of the game mobs become very powerful, including different buffs and additional abilities, while my weapon remain the same, ONLY a bit higher damage. So, all this pissed me off, I rushed to complete storyline and uninstalled the game.

I dreamed about this game for so long, and when I finally got it, I was very disappointed.
By itself game is not bad. Nice shooting mechanics, looting, environment etc. But I am not a fan of "Rainbow Six" game-style, where you have to do each step for 3 minutes of thinking, planning etc. In GTFO you have to count each bullet. So, it's more annoying than exciting. Even if I complete a level in 20-40 minutes, the reward is nothing. I feel like I wasted my time.
Before you purchase, keep in mind that this game is a very slow-paced, planning shooter.
Looking for action? Don't buy it then.

REVIEW CONTAINS STORYLINE SPOILERS!

I have wanted this game for a long time since it was launched. Finally, I have purchased it and can tell that this game worth every single penny. The storyline is very rich, despite cat going back to the surface, I was sad that B12 sacrificed himself. Such type of games are something that kids should play, because it teach compassion, kindness, and give a hit of betrayal, which happens quite often in real life. When I exited the first area, I expected the game to be very short, and I am glad that I was wrong. I will play it once again, later, maybe to unlock some achievements, because I missed few.
Overall rating - 11/10.

I played the demo and finished it (not with first try). I like the story and ambiance, environment. Games is quite challenging. Mechanics of talents and skills is very unique, and it impressed me. If the price for game is fine, I will purchase it. Also I was impressed to see Ukrainian translations! High quality Ukrainian language!!!

I have seen that reviews are very negative and I, to be honest, I don't understand why.
There are bugs in the game, that's true. But I had only ONE bug in the saloon, which was fixed/reset after I filed a petition.
I have no idea what people are crying about or what they are doing in the game to trigger such issues.

Now, regarding gameplay - I think it's very cool and interesting. First of all, unique storyline and the way you can "unlock" all information from the lore. The game forces you to play different characters and visit different zones.
Each level and session makes random rooms and levels, sometimes you might get very unlucky, sometimes - very fortunate.
But in general, you have to think about strategy.
People who say that it's getting similar for each level, once again, I dunno what they mean. Obviously, against BUGS you will build a FIRE turrets etc. That's the way it supposed to be, if you want to win.

I played on 3/4 difficulty and I enjoyed the challenge. Even after completing the game, I am still going to play a bit to collect the last pieces of the lore and open additional ability slots for some heroes.

This game is not something that you will play every day or for 6 months ahead. Like most solo games, you play it, enjoy it, complete it. And, maybe, you will play it once again next year, or if you get other friends to play with.

I recommend this game for everyone who likes tower-defense games.

Amazing game! It's not very difficult, so it will be ok for kids. The most important part of the game is a storyline, it is not extremely rich but very enjoyable and interesting. I played "Kena Bridge of Spirits" which is 10/10 game, and The Gunk is similar (in general). Graphics fine. I highly recommend playing this game. It's quite short tho. Took me 5 hours for the first time with no rush.

This game is very good now compared to what it was when it was it was launched. This game is from the developers who made Left 4 Dead.
In general, logic is the same, but devs added many more features, like many different guns, different attachments, and card decks as a "talents build" is complex but very interesting because it provides huge vary.
More fun to play in a full group of friends.
Game is highly recommended!

This game is just amazing, perfect, well-done extention to the story of previous Dying Light. Mechanics is same smooth and nice, I really enjoy fights and parkour. Storyline is very long and enjoyable, including stupid guys Tolga and Fatin. Graphics is very good, environment is nice.
Recommend to everyone who liked Dying Light 1.
