As a massive fan of Voyager, I was really looking forward to playing the demo on this. Like a lot of people have said, not having any of the original theme music, or any original actors does remove the immersion. I am guessing they couldn't get the rights? Or it would have been to expensive...which is a shame. A lot of the original actors/extras probably aren't available I guess (Jen Lien especially).

Still, I enjoyed the demo a lot. I know these points are just icks for me at the moment but:

1. Captain Janeway should have her ponytail at the start - then decide if you want to cut her hair! (lol)
2. I had Neelix bring up a sidemission for crew accomodations before he was recruited
3. There were graphical errors with the away missions with who was first sent down (You should be able to have Janeway beam in on the away missions).
4. The tactical gameplay seems fun, but a bit clunky.
5. The bridge looks a little weird, and needs a polish
6. I don't think they are using the original Voyager Red Alert klaxon noise. I may be wrong.

Overall, I am excited to have something of Voyager fandom since the Elite Force series to dive in too. I will buy the game, but if they can somehow fix up making the music feel, at the very least, more authentic to the series, that would help with immersion.

Still, theyve taken on probably 7 seasons of content and they won't get everything right. I'll give the demo an upvote just because it was fun for 2-3 hours.

Fun seeing a game come out though dedicated to a full series. Worth taking a look in the demo!

I came across Dale and Dawson by accident. Having been a predominantly survival/MMO/Space type of gamer, this was a welcome relief to large guild management at the end of hectic guild wars.

In saying this, I expanded myself from playing with close friends, and opening myself up to the larger internet. I was scared to do this at first, but in many ways, Dale and Dawson is an ultimate social experiment.

I started over 5 weeks ago. A very loyal specialist/slacker/manager, whatever the company needed of me. I was focused on winning the game, for whatever I was assigned at the beginning of the game....Up until...I learned how much fun you could actually have in this game by creating so many different storylines.

Ive been in office "relationships", impregnated and killed by a "savage" AI, found my long lost triplet sisters from the UK, realised my Nanna was still alive and well after 75 years in the US, found embezzling managers, taken over as a fire warden, been a physical instructor, personally been trained by Connor McGregor, implemented 911 emergency evacuation procedures, gotten drunk at the workplace, smoked every type of drug in the bathroom, been lied too, lied too others, been an FBI/DEA agent, been recognised as both the legitimate King of England and Scotland, and so so many more types of story lines.

80 added steam friends later, from all over this beautiful planet of ours, I can whole heartily say that this game, for such a very small investment, is worth every single cent. I've made so many good friends, created so many different RP story lines (some good...some debatable) but at the end of the day, you put in to this game what you take out.

Sure, there are always going to be lobby's that are not for you. It's the world we live in. Racism, bigotry, people thinking that an $8 game is a great place to meet chicks....But if you can get past all that, and find the absolute gems that this community has, then you'll be hooked.

The one man developer has done an amazing job. Generally weekly updates and always listening to feedback. I look forward to the development of the game, as well as possibilities for this type of game being moved in to other environments.

10/10 - Thanks to all the people that I've met so far.

No OCE servers at all. In this day and age, especially being FTP, how a company does not think to include an entire area that could possibly create them a lot of revenue is beyond me.

I have over 5000 hours in other survival games. Including DayZ, H1Z1, ARK, Conan, Atlas, SCUM + more. This is, by far, the most addictive and comprehensive survival game, which borders along the lines of MMO progression, that I have ever played.

Those that are fearful of Chinese suppression, simply join a region locked server. Sure, some get through, but it's a much better experience.

With the announcement of new empires coming this year (Greece/Egyptian etc), along with the massive loads of content, I can't put it down. I am playing with friends, which makes it even better.

Im glad they stole the ARK engine, because they have improved on it x 1000. Pathing issues are so much better and there are so many more QOL additions that I wish ARK had. Sure, there are improvements, but simply the amount of progression in the game, for a SURVIVAL online game is staggering. They even have daily New World OPR events.

Will be playing this for quite some time.

Early Access Review
Not sure why this is getting some early negative reviews.

Ive been watching a lot of streams as well as all of the variety and uniqueness this game has to offer. I am always perplexed by the human need to judge a game that is on DAY ONE, HOUR ONE, of release. This isn't THE DAY BEFORE guyz. Its ok! The devs arent gonna run off with your money!

Early on:

I am loving the uniqueness to the worlds as well as the complexity, but simplicity of the environments. They are fairly small in comparison to other survival type games, but they feel more alive. Generally, you arent running somewhere where there is nothing to run too.

The crafting system seems extremely unique and complex. Which is something Ive wanted in a survival game for some time. I also love the fact that you have complete freedom when designing your weapons of choice.

The card system, which links in to the procedural game play, seems like a lot of fun. Unlike NMS, the worlds do offer a lot of activity (Compared to NMS on day one of release of course).

I am looking forward to being able to play with friends, and compared to Enshrouded (in a coop sense only) I am extremely pleased to see that my progress, and instances, are character based and not server based. Meaning I can progress at my own pace as time goes by, and my friends and I can share "home instances" if we choose too, then team up for coop gameplay. Nicely done.

This will be an ongoing review, but very early on, the game seems to have a lot of MEAT to it. And its nice to see a game that isn't AI generating it's early trailers (Hey there The Day Before KEKW).

Each to their own, but I am looking forward to exploring all the mechanics and content that Nightingale has to offer! GL HF Realmwalkers!

EDIT: The tutorial system is great and helps you acclimatise nicely. I also liked the character setup options, namely setting up various difficulty levels based upon your overall confidence in survival games. That in itself looks like some great replay-ability options down the path.

After not having played NW for 19 months up until this expansion, I was pleasantly surprised with what I was coming back too. Initially anyway. When I found out that all they did was reskin First Light, I was heavily dissappointed. Why get rid of a territory for (Yes I know they made Edengrove a territory, but that's not what I meant). It's like they are scared of opening the map up more, and losing player base.

What happened to all the exciting "hints" of things to come. Such as ships/sailing/map being twice the size etc. And for the life of me, I can't believe they haven't added any love to company management. Not even a treasury audit log! No guild banks or housing. Nothing. You dont really feel like you are in an actual company unless you see your flags mounted on a territory, and that gets old after awhile. AGS needs to introduce new company mechanics for both territory owners, as well as non-territory owners. Give us guild housing or something.

The introduction of the artifact system is nice, but it just means there is more to grind. Especially in coming back from a long break, the PvP track is a massive grind. And each patch AGS seems to break something. Like a simple patch completely broke people being able to login. Where are your Quality Control workers?

In summary, New World has given me a lot of fun both 19 months ago, and the last 2 1/2 months in playing it. But if AGS don't release a road map of actual new content, instead of a new dungeon here, and a new season pass there, they will eventually merge all servers in to the last remaining one which would mean the end of the game.

Do better AGS. Bring back the fun. Listen to your playerbase. GIVE COMPANIES SOME LOVE!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this game. But I needed a break from other games and it has been an absolute blast. I hate horror type games with jump scares, and a lot of people probably don't think it is. My friends tricked me in to telling me it was just a "grab supplies and upgrade" game, well I was both horrified, jump scared, left behind, fed to quicksand, unable to make basic jumps, eaten alive about 500 times, and I don't think I have ever gotten a title better then "paranoid" employee at the end.

Playing with a friend group is so nice, out of discord, and it really gives you the eerie feeling wondering if you are the last one to survive. I wouldn't know what that feels like btw. My quickest death happened via lightening within 2 seconds, which must be, a company record.

Regardless, I have not had so much fun on a $15 buy in a longtime. I know my friends are enjoying the clips that they have made of me failing at everything, but in each game, I get a little better (Kap).

Have fun! With all the P2W/EXP type games out there that now end up costing you $100's in the longterm, having a game worth $15 that you can jump in and out of, is a very nice surprise.

GG! Would get killed by quicksand again.

Amazon games killed New World. It had such a fantastic premise on release, then the devs just made mistake, after mistake, after mistake... GG Amazon...

So here I am, typing up another DLC review and thinking back to when I started playing DBD nearly 5 years ago in the Open Beta, and I have to say that not much has changed. Now, before you abuse me, I am talking about in the sense of what there is actually to do in the game. Survivors still repair 5 generators before the game ends. Killers still attempt to sacrifice all 4 survivors and whilst there are a whole lot more perks/maps/cosmetics and they have fixed many of the issues inside the game itself, the core of the game hasn't changed.

This particular DLC is exactly the same as the rest. An automatic money guzzling cash maker for the devs, and well, good on them. Yes, I will keep playing but more so out of boredom when waiting for other games to come out. I implore the devs to start considering giving survivors and killers more tasks to perform, or change up the scenarios for both escape and sacrifice. Develop new and exciting items that can be used ( WE STILL HAVE THE SAME ONES SINCE RELEASE).

5 years on, devs, please start giving us more things to do. You now have the bankroll to start literally thinking outside the entity.

PS - STILL only 2 emotes that can be used? WTF. Would have thought devs would have been all over this cosmetic shop promotion! But I guess they can't be bothered having to do all the animation...zzzzzz
