Jump into a lobby full of nice people to chat and fish. Or be silent. Or practice an instrument. Simple, yet wondrous.

It's a horror, puzzle game that has good customization on game play. You might forget it's horror and get into the puzzle aspect of it, but it will remind you it is both every so often.

Hosting with friends, it can be quite silly or quite scary, and swapping between the two at the drop of a hat. The ghost does have a nice sense of humor which can make provoking it fun, but can also become hostile on a moment's notice. Could also be irritating and know how to mislead you, or just not do anything. Played with friends, both VR and flat-screen. Played alone. Used the equipment as weirdly as you can, and fiddled with all types of difficulties. The only thing I haven't done is VR (personally), and I don't do public lobbies often. Still, this is a fun multiplayer experience however you intend to experience.

Single player is quite different. After all, it would be you versus a ghost. You don't know where one is, but you don't have a way to really defend yourself if it get angry.

It feels like actual ghost hunting, but with actual ghosts.

Do you want to run a serious store or do you want to just be a complete idiot with the customers. Do both, at the annoyance of the former!

Also, dev updates every so often. What is not to love?

Love this game. From what is super fun or super scream worthy to what is clunky or awkward, to eventually always resulting in you failing a quota and restarting, every bit of this is nutty fun with you and your friends.

Then add mods to the mix.

A comment from YouTube, on nearly all Pizza Tower OST videos I find is: "Don't ask if Pizza Tower is worth your time, ask yourself if you are worth Pizza Tower's time." And that statement couldn't be any more accurate. Hell, I'm working to 100% this.

This is a developer who loved a game and ended up making their own based off it. And I gotta tell ya, I'm getting the Wario Land series after this.

Edit: I may have a problem...
Edit2: So the Noise update came out...

Just get it at this point.

Edit: This is still a great game. We’re 6 seasons in, and there are so many ways they’ve been just knocking out free (and paid) content out and tweaking the game that has made it a blast to play. There are ways to still improve the game: some modes like Spiritual Assault really depend on the computer you play the game with, and a refactoring of the UI and how to approach games could definitely help. But if you like keeping track of minor stats that will stack for major buff changes, this is your game. Think of it like someone took Borderlands 2, Binding of Issac, Dead Cells, Risk of Rain, put them all into a blender, and set it to 'puree'. Figuratively, doing that would just obliterate your hard drive.

I've been playing since early access LONG ago, for context.

While the comparisons to the Borderlands games are abundant (Characters with vastly different active skills and play strats; the damage types of Fire/Electric/Corrosion; shields and health; guns with a template and varying abilities, some minor, some game-changing), the talent tree versus ascension trees and double unlock for scrolls/weapons make it unique, with more experimentation than Borderlands ever could. While there are skill trees that can change how a character is played, there are scrolls that can be collected by any character that have similar effects. Many of these types of talents, scrolls, and ascensions can stack in ways you can have stupidly overpowered builds. The weapons also have a unique identity; each one can vastly change how you choose to attack an enemy. And the inscriptions (stats) they have can mean they just deal more crit damage or have bigger magazines, to spreading elemental effects or getting extra damage on kill for a few seconds, to summoning elemental balls or creatures, or even completely change the unique ability on a gun even further.

The game has a pretty cute aesthetic too. The furry characters have cool designs and talents that make them all feel unique. The enemies and locations are interesting too, and representing a section of the culture the game’s based on.

The gameplay is pretty easy to understand, hit enemies' Red Health Bars with Fire, Blue Shields with Electricity, and Yellow Armor with Corrosion. They function like they do in Borderlands (more damage against the type it is weak to, less damage to others), but they also can combine into fusion effects to added weirdness (charming an enemy to be an extra target, another heavy and stackable DoT effect, or just exploding and damaging all people near them). The main elements also have their own effects like Burning (DoT), extra damage (Shock), or a slow (decay). And there are scrolls, ascensions, and inscriptions that can take advantage of that too.

Finally, they keep adding things like new game modes or harder difficulties that are not just a vertical difficulty tweak. IEven with the DLC adding new characters and weapons, with more in the works, there are a LOT more ways to play. They also add free updates, and have a roadmap in game of what they plan to add. The developers are engaged, and it is great to see.

Solo, it's great. When played with friends, you can consolidate your scrolls and abilities together to ensure that you all can have super insane builds. Make a tank to take the focus, a sniper to destroy things far from battle, an alchemist to inflict status effects upon status effects, whatever works.

The only downsides the game can be a bit of a slow boil. When first starting out, the talent trees take time to unlock, and on your own, it can be a process. It has the same issue of 'Stop and Start' game play issues that Borderlands, and most roguelites have: you go through a room, clear it out, then have to spend time looking over to see if you missed anything, and with partners, swap scrolls and weapons. There isn’t much of a story, and it has a considerable amount of 'Engrish' in it. To be fair, though, I don’t mind the poor English. 'Challenge Succeed' sounds so awesome when clearing a room. And the descriptions of scrolls/weapons/skills/seasonal stuff will tell you exactly what they do, though there can be some confusion if you can’t fully grasp the context with the poor translations. There are ways to mitigate that, and honestly, experimenting is what makes it fun.

TLDR: Buy this game, buy it with friends, destroy all in front of you, then go back to the inn, change some stuff around and see how it fares this time!

The game SAYS you can play with your friends who DON'T have this DLC pack (though it limits it to 10 times/week). I don't know why, but it never works. The instant we set it, it says that players have reached their limit for Uno Flip, despite never playing it. And according to the steam forums, this is something that happens to a lot of people and has been happening since its release. How is that acceptable?

I'm not sure what keeps me coming back to this game. Maybe it is just because I like the theme. Maybe I like the creator. Maybe I like that it is a really good puzzle game. Maybe it is just because it is plain fun.

Whatever the reason, I recommend it. It has a home-made feel to it, which makes it all the more likable.

Just don't kill yourself.

I want to recommend this game. I really do. The weapons set up, the level up system through playing, the cosmetics that you are able to buy or find for your character makes this pretty much a 3rd person Tf2.

So, why am I not recommending it?

They disabled support for the steam version. Pretty much, at one point, they decided they would get more players and it would be worth it more if they pulled support for the PC version and went into the Console version. Which is sad because its a lot of fun and is still fun, even when playing with bots, but the lack of dedicated servers make it impossible to play except to P2P clients, and you will be stressed to find anyone that isn't either a hacker or someone who has very poor connection, so you will die and it will not be fun.

If you're really interested in playing it still, I've heard the Playstation version is amazing. I'd play it, but If you are wanting to play, don't be surprised if they one day decide that a certain version is not pulling revenue and will take support out without any warning.

EDIT: There is something I need to clarify, as I was wrong on some counts. After some more research, it turns out the game wasn't that popular enough to sustain itself. However, there was a publisher that offered to take the game to PlayStation for them, but they had to disable the steam version (not sure the extent of that part). However, they apparently backed out last minute and got cold feet, leaving the game to die there too. As stated, it is a damn shame though. I still have a few fond memories of this game.
