This game has deeper lore than you think. It's not just your ordinary aquarium game. Every pet has their unique story. Some background stories are dark, like real dark, some are funny, some don't make sense, and some are sad, very sad. There are also connections between pets and other Popcap games such as PvZ and Typer Shark (Popcap universe). For example, the friendship between Itchy and Gash that ended due to alien invasion which led Gash to hate Itchy due to getting abandoned. There is also a drug addict whale who swallowed fishes that was supposed to be protected in its mouth.
