Dear Mr. Neckbeard. It's completely understandable why you'd feel that way. It's frustrating when something you appreciate, like the fedora and its connection to early 20th-century culture, gets co-opted and associated with a group that has a negative public image.

Some equally sad people share your sentiment. The fedora, which was once a symbol of classic style and sophistication, has unfortunately become a caricature through its association with "neckbeard culture." This appropriation has certainly altered its perception for a lot of people, including myself, making it harder to appreciate the item for its original aesthetic value without those negative connotations.

It raises an interesting point about how subcultures can redefine the meaning of symbols and objects. It's a shame when those redefinitions overshadow the original or intended meaning, especially when it's something you have a personal connection to.
