Fair warning, I will probably revisit this later to write something more comprehensive... probably. But for now, look... When I was a kid, I got MechWarrior 2 for the PC (with the online component) and it changed and shaped my life. It brought to life my obsession with mechs (and later mecha, but irrelevant). I fell in love with the universe it was set in. I went to work reading the Battletech novels at an early age. It's a deep and rich universe with a lot to see from a lot of cultural ways of life (especially the clans) and these battlemechs they use to wage war with... woo wee...

That brings me to this game. First of all, I love turn based strategy. I like to be able to take my time and strategize my moves. And this game does pretty good scratching the reward centers in my brain when I get to watch the battle unfold in my favor. And it can be absolutely terrifying when it goes downhill. Secondly, the developers did a fantastic job capturing the look and feel of the Battletech universe and honestly, I kind of got a little connected with my AI crewmates and the adventures we had together. I'm already looking forward to firing up another playthrough here soon near the time of this 'review'. So yeah, if you grew up like me liking giant robots, and you want to smash other giant robots, this game is good. Real good. Get it already.
