Now I'm a huge fan of Phantom Brigade and Brace Yourself Games!
The core gameplay idea is highly unconventional and brilliantly executed.
Watching reruns is genuinely fascinating. Every single time.

The game absolutely nails the spirit and intensity of mech combat that BattleTech completely lacks.
No offense but that Battletech is a snoozefest and a complete bore
Yeah-yeah, that Battletech is TBS but it doesn't make it any less crap

Oh, and I almost forgot the ace up its sleeve: the destruction puts its contemporaries to shame. These aren't X-Com's popping squares. The legendary, now late grand-daddy Silent Storm would be proud, smiling down from the afterlife at this masterpiece.
I thought that ancient technologies of our ancestors were lost forever.

The soundtrack fits the on-screen action perfectly. It's not Heroes of Might and Magic (mean 3 and 4 of course) or DOOM.
But it's still pretty good. It sets the right mood.

Anyone who wants a deep storyline in a game like this is completely nuts!
The plot is just an excuse to get to the action, like it is in a racing game or... other stuff on the black\orange youtube.
We came here to move some mechs and blow ♥♥♥♥ up! And the game delivers on that perfectly.
Keep your "visual novel" expectations for somewhere else.

Please make MechCommander 3!

My only request: PLEASE make a game in the BattleTech universe.
Specifically, bring back the classic MechCommander formula.
Nah, bummer. Microsoft owns that IP. It's just a pipe dream. RIP MechComander
