A really cool indie immersive sim that lives rent free in my head. I do want to preface however that the game is extremely janky, and if you do not have a high tolerance for eurojank and bugs, your enjoyment might be hindered. Peripeteia is unapologetic in being itself and its own thing, and doesn't mind if you end up bouncing off it as a result. It's crudely put together and feels like its held together with duct tape, and it makes me love it even more.

Levels are ridiculously massive and getting lost is extremely easy. The game does not hold your hand at all and will point you in a vague direction at best, leaving you on your own to explore. It can border on turning the game into a walking sim at times. There are multiple endings to every single mission rather than one or two set ways, meaning that there's a ton of replay-ability to see what each route for each mission has in store.

The aesthetic, art style, and music all perfectly fit in painting the world of Peripeteia as a cold, lonely, and sad place. Textures are dirty and ugly, places look bombed out or abandoned, its always dark and potentially rainy. It genuinely almost feels more post apocalyptic at times rather than cyberpunk with how rundown and tired everything feels.

This game was made for a certain type of individual, and if it resonates with you then you'll love it.

Leaving a review because some people are throwing a tantrum and review bombing.

Limbus Company is a game from the indie studio Project Moon, a small 30(ish) man team from Korea. The main draw to Project Moon is their world building and story telling, and Limbus Company carries that on from their previous titles. While a continuation from the previous games, this can serve as a jumping on point for anyone interested without having to play the lengthy previous two games.

Limbus is a gacha game, but a surprisingly good one at that. You roll for identity's for the main cast, called sinners, which are alternate reality versions of themselves. It's incredibly free to play friendly, giving the option to reasonably grind out any Identity for the characters you want. I've spent way, way less in Limbus compared to other gacha games and have everything in the game.

The developers are incredibly responsive to feedback, and fixes/addresses issues faster than some multi-million dollar game companies do. Give the game a chance if you're interested.

One of my favorite games I think I've ever played.

Library of Ruina has a great Intricate turned based combat system where you build decks from the foes you defeat, mix and matching cards from previous fights to overcome whatever the game throws at you next. Floors allow you to center builds around specific mechanics, such as burn damage or pierce with their unique abnormality cards.

The music is fantastic with a special mention to Mili's entire album dedicated to the game in being phenomenal with catching the tone of the game and the fights they accompany. From Gebura's explosive electric guitar riffs to Chesed's melancholic and somber floor theme, each patron librarian has an OST fitting their character and play style.

The story does a fantastic job of expanding on The City, an almost cyberpunk type setting where mega corporations wielding technology called singularities that are beyond human comprehension control every aspect of the residents' lives. Just replace the synth-wave, neon, and 80's nostalgia with horror and anime. The world project moon has created leaves me wanting to learn more and i'm eagerly awaiting their next game.

Highly recommend if you like games with fantastic world building, turn based combat, and a decent challenge.

I can not recommend this game enough.

Ultrakill is everything I love about fps's bundled into one game. It feels so good to move around and traverse levels, all the while trying to kill everything you come across in the most stylish way possible. The game has a scoring system similar to DMC. The more intimately familiar you are with the game's systems, the more cool ♥♥♥♥ you can pull off, thereby raising your score. Wanna punch shotgun pellets after shooting a shotgun, increasing their damage and making them explode? Wanna parry projectiles/enemies and send them flying into other enemies? Or even ricochet bullets off of coins you throw? The game makes the player feel powerful every moment it gets. The movement system doesn't hold you back either, and allows you to do whatever you want. Slide, ground pound, knock up, wall jump, rocket jump, air dashes, it all comes together to feel fast and beautiful to play. The only way to heal is getting in close and personal, and bathing in blood of recently killed enemies, kinda like Doom. It takes DMC, Doom, and Arena FPS games and blends it into something unique and incredibly rewarding to play and master. The game is still in early access, so only act one of the campaign is complete at the moment, which will take you a couple hours to beat. However, there is cyber grind. If you've played DMC and know what bloody palace is, its essentially that. Cyber grind is worth the price of the game alone.

I got the game for free from humble bundle, and I wish I didn't because I enjoyed it so much I would have bought it. 20/20 hindsight. Atleast I can sleep easy having bought the DLC (which was amazing as well.)

In all seriousness, I don't really do reviews or serious ones at that, but I felt that I need to, incase someone might be thinking of picking this up. Hacknet is a fantastic game. The main driving plot point of the game is to find out why Bit, the person sending you messages, died. Along the way you'll pick up contracts for other hacking groups and slowly work your way through systems and become a more powerful hacker with more tools at your disposal. The game is mostly played through command lines, but it never feels boring and learning the commands is quick and easy. The game allows the player to do what they want, as there are sometimes multiple options to achieving your goal. The soundtrack also deserves a special mention, perfectly capturing the mood of certain missions and being fun to listen to outside of the game.

The DLC is mandatory if you played through and enjoyed the game, being on the same level of quality and fun as the base game.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who thinks this might be for them.
