Just want to say this first, I have this on standalone.

This sim is truly the best flight sim on the market. This sim prides itself on delivering you the best authentic experience possible in flight and combat. I have most likely over a thousand hours in this game (standalone doesn't track your time online) with probably hundreds of that equally spent learning the aircraft I love. The sim is described as a study level sim, this ain't War Thunder gentlemen. This is where boys become men and you can really show how good you are behind the closest thing to a real life fighter plane. Most of the player base of the sim is awesome, you will meet people with similar passions and possibly real life pilots! These groups will be more than willing to help anyone that is new or experienced in the flight sim.

The sim is regularly updated every month (mostly) with bug fixes and content additions. The studio behind the sim isn't alone in developing aircraft and maps however. The studio contracts out to 3rd party studios, here are the two biggest one of note; Razbam and Heatblur. Razbam is responsible for the development of the Harrier and the F-15E, Heatblur is responsible for the development of the beloved F-14 Tomcat and the legendary F-4 Phantom.

I will also warn anybody that wishes to get this game understand that yes the game is technically free. You only get two aircraft with it, the SU-25 and TP-51. These aircraft are good intro aircraft on their own, SU-25 teaches you how to operate with a low fidelity aircraft and the TP-51 teaches you how to operate with a high fidelity aircraft. The meaning and difference between "low fidelity" and "high fidelity" is with low fidelity the cockpit it not intractable with the mouse courser meaning there is no modeled clicky buttons or switches. High fidelity is the opposite the whole cockpit is intractable this ranges from buttons to switches to displays. Most of the aircraft in DCS are high fidelity which in my personal opinion is the best way at teaching a pilot in how to operate these amazing aircraft.

I hope that this review helps any new future pilots of the sim!
