if only valve cared about an actual anti cheat.... then maybe this game wouldnt be hot garbage. seriously 1 in 3 games you get a hacker in ranked and theres nothing that can be done about it because of the terrible match making system they failed into.

More of a puzzle then a tactical RPG.
lacks in customization and the characters are obnoxious with terrible skins.
game can be fun I guess......... if you are into that sort of stuff. to me however its very repetitive and puts you to sleep pretty quickly.

definitely feels like a waste of money and a chance at making something far more unique.

a solid ARPG that has online servers. Graphics arent the greatest but the amount of builds and discovery allows for endless play time if you are a fan of the genre

12/7/25 LOL called it. CO quit this game. It was never ready for offical launch and should have been refunded by steam

10/20/25 - Devs have all but abandoned the product. pathetic.

1/22/25 - the same performance issues still remain a year after launch. Game has basically been abandoned by the pathetic dev team. Bunch of fraudulent clowns.

Update: Its been 4 months and CO manage to make the game worse with very little patches. The Sim is slower, the CTD are more frequent and the amount of bugs have only grown.
Makes you wonder if they have the slightest clue as to what they are doing......

Update: still no word from CO on if there will be any fix to simulation or the actual performance of the game. This game is bloatware at best & Malicious company at worse. (2/15/24)

Update: CO has no timeline on mods/bug fixes continues to blame consumer for alpha version of product. (1/31/2024)

Update: CEO of CO has gone out of her way to gaslight the fanbase for a second time and cast blame on to consumers, instead of accepting blame for an unfinished product. This game not having an EA tag is absolutely ridiculous, over 4000 software bugs currently reported. (1/16/2024)

Update: Upgraded Rig to a 7800x3d/64gig ddr5/7800xt
Simulation still begins to bog down around 400-500k. Have taken a city to 1Mill pop, but required the game being left on while computer was inactive.
Nothing has changed much from release. The game still becomes unplayable after hours of time wasted on a city you eventually have to abandon do to terrible programming. Still wouldnt recommend to anyone, at all. (12/25/2023)

Original Review:

My performance isn't so much of an issue but that's because my game looks awful. That being said after hitting 150k+ pop my game slows to a crawl (i7-8700k) highest pop I've gotten is 190k+ until I just got bored of the game running the slowest speed possible at the highest speed setting. Things can be visibly hard to see and identify at times. It's even worse with transport systems and anything run underground. Then underground things are shown while above ground is also visually annoying and at times terrible, I'm sure it contributed to system slowing down as city gets bigger.

There are quite a few bugs:

Commerical/trash/ploping builds, also I hate the new water/sewage (at least when I have to start a new city). Import/export feels off and bugged with cargo. Financial tab feels lackluster. No control over import export is so annoying. I just have to hope my cims sell off my max excess of wood and stone..... The need for only one power plant (not even high end) is enough for a city with near 200k pop because you need 3 incinerators to ever 1 garbage dump. Air pollution is really annoying. Road ploping isn't great, road tools are even worse. Half the road tools don't even work. No ped x-walk? Cims don't care just cross the highway for fun. No left turn? Alright car will just do a left U turn at the intersection instead.... Some of my round abouts must have teenage drivers cause sometimes they just go around it 2 or 3 times to find their exit, or maybe the cims are just out joy riding....

Game desperately needs TMPE and move it. The transportation system is so bad..... Trying to create transport paths can be awful. I hate having to snap everything (while I also enjoy the feature at the same time. It's a love/hate relationship because it's flexible yet not). Some good features that CS2 can build upon but also some features are far better in CS1 vanilla. Overall the game needs to bake for about 6-12 months.

Currently I'd give the game a 4/10 because it has good bones. Just a lot of bugs, lack of features from CS1 and added annoying features.

At this time I can not recommend others pay full price for this Early Access/Beta. The game has promise but is lacking in so many areas along with game breaking bugs. No mod support. Lacks many features from the first one....

Hopes this saves people from wasting money on a scam company like CO
