Another year, another COD campaign completed. They did as they always do, and made a fantastic story. encapsulating details through the saga and bringing it all back round. The campaign is unlike any previous ones, being that you are in a sort of "open world" esque missions, not sure how i feel about that, However, i know an encapsulating story when i see one. The devs made sure to add some good easter eggs during the playthrough. Whether that be from saying "door stuck" when a door is jammed (that one is just stupid). Or to the German Shepherd named 'Riley" in an ode to COD Ghosts. Is this another tease for a Ghosts Reimagining? Without giving too much away in regards to the plot, it does end with a plot point that was in the beginning of the Original MW3. This pay homage to the original games while also re-imagining the MW universe. The end of this game did give me a flashback to when i first played MW3 as a kid. The same punch in the chest, and sadness in a repeat of one of the most heart breaking losses of a character. IS the game worth $70? To most, not at all. However, to people such as myself who have been playing the campaigns to these games for over a decade and like to see the story of the characters, yes. I'll admit, i was hesitant about buying this years game, it looked like a copy paste of the last one. And honestly, it kind of is. Most of this could have just been released as a DLC, but thus is the state of the gaming industry right now. If you look at is with nit picking eyes, it is not anything to go crazy about. But if you just play through and take it in as they way you're meant to, its quite enjoyable. Don't get me wrong though, ♥♥♥♥ Activision and what they have done to the gaming industry. But thank you to the dev studios who still try to make a story in the midst of the corporate ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. While it may not be all that it could have, it still kept me playing. And i think right now, at this state in my life, mental health, and free time, that's all i really need a game to be. still prolly wont play the multiplayer tho
