Do you like combat vehicles? Do you enjoy *mostly* realistic combat mechanics mixed with somewhat hardcore one-shot-you're-dead (sometimes) gameplay? Then you might like War Thunder.

Be warned though, as this game is free to play, your progress will be incredibly slow without purchasing premium time, currency, and/or vehicles.

I love War Thunder but it has many game-play flaws that the developers say they will address but have yet to address and/or implement changes to. Some things are arbitrarily changed just because the developers feel they want to. As the developers are based in Russia, the Russian tech tree tends to get all the favors while NATO (and especially America) gets the short straw.

I would heavily recommend you *NOT* buy top tier premium vehicles without learning the ropes of the game and maps first. Top tier plays at breakneck speeds and the margin for error is minuscule. You will not have an easy or fun time learning the hard way unless you play carefully and take your time.

Of course, this doesn't matter sometimes - War Thunder is a team based game, and with the sheer influx of top tier premium tanks and planes, teams are filled with one death leavers and will hamstring any good effort you make. I have killed thirteen tanks in top tier and still lose because half of my team was premium tanks that died and left without doing anything to contribute.

tl;dr only play if you enjoy combat vehicles, be wary of the grind and be especially wary of buying your way into top tier
