Great and really fun game, which lets you get somewhat immersed in the kingdom or tribe you're playing as and it let's you try many different nations and strategies. You can even start as the smallest nation on the map and still come out on top at some later point in the game.
It obviously has its own learning curve and getting lucky at somepoints so it might be difficult to learn at first, but once you get used to it and learn something once, you'll remember it.
Playing the game without it's dlc can still be fun, but sadly the full experience is unlocked by buying a few dlc that its worth more than the basic game.
