You can't confuse the largest diamond in the world with the largest diamond ever found. The largest one ever found was the Cullinan, which was found South Africa in 1905. But it was cut into over a hundred pieces, the largest of which was 530.2 carats. But eighty years later the Golden Jubilee was found (in the same mine, no less) and was cut into just one piece that weighed 545.67 carats.
