for example im redesigning ash whispers and have given her some burn scars due to her fire magic :3
I don't often use refrences (in all my art actually i only use them with complicated poses i can't nail) but they can be really helpful! I personally use the Glossy jelly coloring brush but any brush that tapers at the tip a bit and fades in doing so should work! i use long strfokes with shorter ones for detailing and use 2 colors for shading
i also recently tried blending it out with a charcoal brush and i quite liked it!
I also wanted to know how you do backgrounds? Do you use references? Also what do you do for grass? I ALSO want to know how you're so good at character design heheheh
