This game made me cry quite a few times through my playthrough. it was an emotional rollercoaster and one that a game has never taken me on like this before

Super pretty and immersive. Some designs in the pools that are now my favorite of all time for pool liminal spaces. Not a long play through but pretty fun. Highly recommend for a chill game to just look at interesting and liminal spaces except for 1 level. Worth the money, give it a shot if you like liminal spaces even if you just want a walking sim. I personally walked as much as I could to create my own atmosphere as well

I have now finished the game and I have been sobbing. I have grown too attached to these little lesbians and i would die for them

I dont have too many hours as of yet but my experience so far has mirrored a lot of the reviews. too many enemies makes it not scary. had 2 bacterias and another thing i dont know the name of chasing me at once. A lot of just avoiding enemies. Game has a lot of potential but I hope that the amount of enemies changes. A big part that makes me personally love the backrooms is the emptiness of it and having the entities be a rare encounter. Having the long silence disturbed by the monsters makes it much scarier when you actually see an enemy instead of it just being a game of avoiding a bunch of enemies. It's still early access and it looks like theres a lot of potential for the game so im looking more towards the future currently.

Also not sure if it's an issue or not but the laptops will have a green glow around them like you can interact with them but you cant. and there also seems to be infinite range on turning the generators on and off even if you arent looking at them, it just will turn on and off the last one you interacted with when you click M1. The interact keys are also not in the key bindings menu either yet.

It has issues but I have high hopes for this game's future. Since it's early access the devs are hopefully going to listen and work with the community to improve the game but in it's current state I can't really recommend it unfortunately but there is no neutral option for steam reviews so i have to select yes or no.

Also seems to be an achievement issue as well. I havent gotten the one for encountering the unknown thing that has a picture of bacteria on it but if it is bacteria and not something else to be misleading I have encountered bacteria multiple times and purposefully died to him once as well.

Cool game

My specs: i7 8700k w/ 32gb ram
ASUS GTX 1060 Turbo w/ 6gb VRAM

Running on low settings with my gpu overclocked, I still can't get a steady 60fps outside of loading screens. The recommended specs are a 1060 and an i7 4790 but even on the lowest settings I cant get a steady 60.
Usually run around 45 fps with my frames dipping to 20-25 at my apartment. I have too many hours logged to refund the game even though pretty much all of my hours was me trying various things to try and get it to run better.
If you want the game to look good and/or run smoothly you need a gpu above the recommended specs.
And yes I tried using the DDU and tried all the fixes and settings I could find online. Playing with everything on the lowest setting has very little atmosphere and makes it hard to get immersed in the slightest with everything still looking like it is still rendering in.

I've never been so addicted to a game before in my life (if you can't tell from my profile picture already)

+engaging story
+good story length
+big open worlds
+lots to discover in every world (actually did something with the space instead of leaving it empty)
+great controller support
+my depression went away while I was playing


-the camera is a bit wonky sometimes in my experience but this is sort of a nitpick
-no difficulty settings besides the 1 hit badge (or at least the ability to turn down how often hearts are placed to replenish health)
-when I re-entered the real world I was hit with a brick of depression
