Fallout New Vegas is *the* best Fallout game ever released. Its everything an RPG should be, a blast to play and with some of the best DLC I've ever played in a game. If you are looking to get into a post apocalyptic hell hole and gamble every NPC's future with your actions, you've picked a good game. If you're looking for a lore and story rich RPG, again you've chosen well. If you're looking for a bug free feature with 16x the detail, all new rendering, lighting and landscape technology, then you've chosen poorly.

This is a messy game, it bugs out, breaks constantly and needs at least a couple texture and bug fix mod's to be even remotely playable, but given a crammed 18 month development and the awful Bethesda engine, this game is a massive success despite these issues. (Just learn how to use the Nexus, trust me it's worth it)

The difference between this and a Bethesda title is obvious from the start, Beth games begin by explaining who you are, how you fit into this universe. New Vegas doesn't give a sh** and begins by explaining the world to you, never explaining who you are other than you get shot in the head. You awake and go through the standard character creation, although its shorter than Fallout 3's so be thankful... You choose your Special stats (Don't bother with Charisma, focus luck for the benefits while gambling) and go on an adventure that's so varied and lets you go about it in so many ways that it turns out I missed about a 1/4 of the main story accidentally on my first play-through and still had a fun and enjoyable experience.

The dialogue is great, the factions are interesting and there are so many of them you can get lost in a side factions story for hours. The world feels alive and not like it revolves around you until you make it! Seriously, if you want a fantastic RPG look no further.
