Without a doubt has the best home decorating mechanics I've seen, I love being able to stack items and clutter up my home with little trinkets, being able to open cabinets and fill them with kitchenware, all while being on an intricate grid system so things can line up nicely when I want them to and be slightly-off when I want them to look perfectly imperfect.
The characters are also really nice, I really love Jel, Reth, and Tish's storylines and personalities.

My biggest complaint is a very mild 'eh' directed at the real-money cosmetics, which are so over-the-top that even though I'd like to support this game I've spent 100+ hours in, the outfits are so dramatic and out of place compared to the outfits and aesthetics the NPCs have that I wouldn't even want to use them because I'd look so much more 'overdressed' than the characters in the world. (Not to mention how expensive they are in the first place...) but the micromacrotransactions are all cosmetic-only so they're easy to ignore.

Overall its a fun, free game you can dump a lot of time into just relaxing and decorating a house, fishing, and talking to townsfolk (largely on the subject of soup, more frequently than you'd expect)

Really love this game and its sequel, I highly recommend both, they're different enough that they both have something to offer and I still play both from time to time

lots of quality of life improvements over slime rancher 1, and the new mechanics with gathering materials by exploration rather than SL1's extractors really improve the gameplay loop.
If you've played SL1, you'll love this. If you haven't, get both--SL1 has some minigames, additional areas, and late-game automation that SL2 doeesn't have a counterpart to yet at time of review, and SL2's new and improved art, animation, and gameplay mechanics make both really enjoyable experiences.
