I played Borderlands at launch, I played and enjoyed Borderlands 2, played none of the non-numerical sequels, and thought Borderlands 3 was so-so, but mainly because I had a lot of server issues playing with my buddy.

Borderlands 4 is a good game! The collectibles are interesting and don't feel like filler, I'm actually enjoying the echo logs and the added lore even with the cringey millennial humor. The gunplay feels very satisfying and punchy, and the overhauled movement system makes combat as a whole really fun and fluid. The main antagonists in BL3 were very annoying to me and I thought the overarching story was kinda cringe. The story in this game is actually pretty good so far, and the playable characters all seem to have soul. I've been playing with a friend and all the issues I had with BL3 connectivity, especially on crossplay, seems to be resolved.
