NFS Unbound… what a letdown. I went into this with all the optimism of a kid on a sugar high, excited for some arcade racing fun. After all, I usually dabble in the meticulous world of sim racing, so a casual romp sounded like just the thing. I grabbed the game over the weekend because, hey, it was free and who doesn't love a bargain?

First impressions? The visuals are a mixed bag; the cartoon effects are like that quirky friend who shows up to a formal dinner in a Hawaiian shirt, unexpected but not a deal-breaker. The music is decent, and the cut scenes are as charming as a late-night infomercial host.

Then I started driving… and oh boy. The controller handling is so off, it feels like the car’s steering wheel is on vacation. It’s not just bad; it’s the kind of bad that makes you question if the developers were racing blindfolded.

I genuinely wanted to like this game. At $8.99, it seemed like a steal, but I’d rather toss that ten bucks into a wishing well and hope for a better gaming experience. NFS Unbound might be a bargain, but it’s one that’ll have you wishing you spent your time and money elsewhere.
