Game itself is a good and even fun fighting game if you are willing to invest the time to learn it. There are some downsides, like pluggers and bad connection sometimes but that's most of the time actually not a problem. This alone wouldn't bring me to NOT recommend the game, so why don't I recommend it?
The monetization model the Publisher has chosen. You're not only paying full price (Over 100 bucks for the deluxe version), it also has an in game store. But even that wouldn't really be a problem for me, seeing the stuff you can buy there for money is only cosmetics, that's actually fine for me.
But where it ends for me is with the battle pass. Because here it's not simple cosmetic stuff behind a paywall, here they are working with FOMO, here they are cleary saying "Buy now or miss out" and that's the red line for me! This is scummy as hell. And if this isn't enough of scummy behavior, lets shortly look at the price of the "battle pass". It's 600 coins, so you just spent around 6 bucks and have it? Hell no, of course not, the smallest amount of coins you can buy is 500, so you've got to purchase at least 1000 coins if you want the battle pass premium tier.
And with that, we are easily on Diablo Immortal level of scummy monetraization but Diablo Immortal was at least a Free-2-play game, Tekken 8 is not!
