Hi there mate, regarding the issue you are facing with Left 4 Dead 2, could you please try adding the following command line parameters in your Steam options of Left 4 Dead 2?

"-w 1600 -h 900 -window"

Replace the width and height with your respective resolution, then save and launch the game from Steam.
