Early Access Review
This simulation experience of a game really made me appreciate "econoboxes" more than ever before. Like I just recreated my first car's engine in this game trying to create a 1-to-1 recreation of it, and I have like never had such a profound understanding now of as to how robust such a small and meticulous engine it is.

And when I remade the body to try and make it all lighter so that the engine can create the power-to-weight ratio every petrol-head hints at, it made me appreciate automotive engineering even more as an artisan's craft brought to the forefront or frontiers of engineering marvels.

Man, makes me wish I was an automotive engineer or a mechanic. Nevertheless, I think I can be one if I try my hardest. Great simulative software of a game. Makes me wanna use my creations in this as a blueprint for real life builds or mods and such.

Early Access Review
My frontal lobe expanded just recently (as of the time of review), its not relevant to my enjoyment of this game as a whole, but I'm pretty proud to still be around to be able to even play this game.

Game is in Early Access, but it feels like destiny to play this series again after all these years.

This is truly a return to roots.

Fun. Fast. Fantastic!

FAST BEAT BATTLE RIDER plays like Wangan Midnight, Initial D and Tokyo Extreme Racer but with motorbikes instead. Since this is seemingly a port from an real-world arcade machine, for a port it has both keyboard and gamepad (controller) support and it works seamlessly well. (Although to exit the game: have to press [[ESC]] and then close it through a window dialog pop-up.)

But enough boring text here's my experience with Fast Beat Battle Rider...

A-la my experience...
I think I spent over 3 hours trying to beat the story mode that I completely forgot to eat lunch during my free time that I went: "I can eat lunch later, I wanna beat this game and unlock all the cosmetics and upgrades." And that's what made me waste 3 hours of my life playing this game from the moment of purchase til now in which I am trying to beat New Game+. And I still haven't eaten lunch.

That's pretty much all I can say for a game review really. Like I can't describe how responsive and visually (moderately) noisy yet sparkly and exciting the game-play is.

You have to really, really! Play it yourself. Like there are moments where NPCs would rubber-band from last to first - and its as annoying or as feelingly cheated as Need For Speed's rubber banding, the UI tends to tell you how far the opponents are and the slipstream gimmick helps establish that the "rubber-banding" can feel organic. Like if an NPC suddenly picks up speed you can use all the gimmicks the game offers to repel and fend off their aggression.

The last thing I can say about this in terms of game modes: There's a Story Mode, a Versus Mode and a Time Attack/Trial mode, and not in the same bubble, a Customise Mode (to customise your bike and character.)

So for a game that's as cheap as a cheeseburger with a medium sized meal, I think it really is worth more in terms of enjoyment in what I get playing this game over eating food to live or survive.

And for all that is good. For all that is fun and pro-consumer.
Please if you do purchase this game, please help increase the review counts. Help make the video game industry understand that Arcade Machine/Cabinet ports have a good home within the PC gaming market, and that a good, friendly, commercial port of arcade machine software can open up new possibilities within this seemingly quite stale market where Triple-A arcade-sim games flood the market with annual releases than there are replay-able casual arcade games made with love, care and patience.

And as always... Thanks for reading!

Kernel level Anti-cheat is killing this game
The implementation of Denuvo AC is killing my computer as I play the game. Monte Carlo as a Rally Stage drops frames so bad that it halts my PC and start scuffing my mid-tier hardware components.

There's no sign of modern alternatives such as FSR 2.0, they only have the first version and it's still not enough to alleviate the screen tearing and FPS drops.

I really like this game, I really do, and I love how there's hardly any of that dark pattern/design you see in modern gaming with season passes, its all cosmetics but for a WRC official game I can't recommend it even at 70% off its initial pricing.

This game is an easy, and deserving 8/10 if there was no kernel level anti-cheat

Albeit, I doubt EA will ever remove Denuvo, I think they're veering off towards chasing wherever the golden pot lies at the end of the rainbow since Codemaster's WRC won't be making any bank just like their other games which were user and consumer friendly.

Car selection isn't great, especially in the variety department.
Forward-wheel Drive, Front Engine (FF), and Rear-wheel Drive (FR) layouts are non-existing for custom building a new rally car. I wan't to create a Middle-engine, Front-wheel Drive car for a balanced and grippy configuration, but I cannot create such a machine. This is my only gripe.

Other than that...in conclusion
A great game just marred by an intrusive, perverted kernel level anti-cheat which destroys any semblance of fun once you get going.

Loved it on Second Try!
Hated it on first try...

First time playing this game, I gave it an hour of play and didn't like it because I was having a hard time setting up my controller. But for some reason, after refunding it at first, I kept thinking: "What if this is that game that makes me fall in love with GT racing?" And it was in the back of my mind for a whole week.

I re-bought the game after I had initially refunded it, and now I am starting to adore everything about it: from the "ideal race lines" with using the middle "race line" for defence or having to drive professionally and safely and having this unwritten rule for a gentleman's agreement and gentleman's conduct on the race track made me realise that this is the reason why people buy GTs for their daily drives on public roads. There is a great appeal in GT racing, where Rally Racing is racing against yourself, GT racing is racing for the sake of building your own reputation and comradery amongst fellow drivers.

As a Rally Racing enthusiast, I wanted to veer away from the intensity of rally racing, but instead I got myself into the intensity of open wheel circuit racing.

...Absolutely! Without a doubt, a phenomenal racing-sim.

It's no Rally Racing, but we didn't buy this game for "Rally" - now did we?

I can't believe I came from Katawa Shoujo (a disabled person waifu [ero] Visual Novel) and then more than 10 years later, I'm playing this...

How the ♥♥♥♥ do you make an somewhat deep Visual Novel JRPG with good-hearty storytelling and wonderful characters with dialogue to beat!?

Why tHe ♥♥♥♥ --- am I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my little sister!?

In Summary
Christian Girls Pretty on the Streets, Freaky in the Sheets.

Like... I have never felt so empowered knowing that the character we play isn't a straight up loser, like he's pretty relatable, except for the fact that he is the literal embodiment of the quote: "I dropped my monster condom that I use for my magnum dong." But in this game, one of the girls primarily only stocks monster condoms, which is a testament with its build-up to this hilarity ensuing slight rom-com, slice-of-life kind of Visual novel.

Gameplay -wise, it's no snooze-fest, that's for sure. Summer Clover's dialogue and moments are incredibly gripping with how well the story is written, the narrative is pretty easy to follow, you can pretty much expect a bit more than what the game's synopsis entails.

Art: All the CG are way too good for a game that's like not even (less than) $30 if you're region has fair pricing - pretty great; well close to hold your attention like the Mona Lisa.

Sound (design): I don't know what to say here, like music does more than it's set out to do, in fact you should buy the OST (although you might get a hard-on due to a track's association). Sound effects are like any "ero" visual novel, but its no bore especially with how seamless "SFX" changes due to context of a scene, interaction, story aspect, etc.

[i[Overall:[/i] Worth the full price. Absolutely charming, light-hearted, ♥♥♥♥-throbbing, but somehow - still manages to be peak visual novel story-telling with an execution that will make future visual novels wanna try and imitate.

Phenomenal.
