But if you want to set it from the launch options via steam, all you have to do is right click on the game from your Steam Window (normally left side of the screen which is the list) and then choose "Properties". A properties window will popup so all you have to do now is click Launch Options and that should open up another dialog that shows a medium length text box where you can input in your launch options. From here, all you have to do now is just add "-w yourreswidth -h yourresheight" with yourreswidth being your native screen resolutions's width and yourresheight as your native resolution's height.
then I'm done. Click OK and all will be set when you launch Dota2 after.
