BattleBlock Theater is a well thought out, casual platformer that opens itself up to great coop gameplay. The game throws you into a bizarre world where you and your compatriots are thrown onto a torturous island inhabited by cats. They force you to run through various dungeons to entertain them. It's fun, stupid and a blast rolled all into ball and thrown off the cliffs who gives a crap just play the game and enjoy it. The voice actor who narrates the entire experience is Richard Horvitz who is also known for doing shows like Angry Beavers , Invader Zim and countless others. The quality of comedy in this game is top notch and adds more to the experience helping elevate it above your typical platformer. The art is consistent and helps establish the strange world you now inhabit. They offer numerous unlocks for cosmetics that help keep the game fresh instead of just being stuck with the same character dying over and over again. It would have been nice to have a randomize option here that would update every time your character dies. With two controllers and a friend, this game is a blast. Dying is not a major deal and is expected. You are not heavily punished making grieving friends funny instead of combative. Each level adds another layer of depth and challenges and progresses in a slow, but steady pace. Each chapter is finished off with a timed challenge that uses all the components you learned throughout the current chapter. It's a simple formula executed exceptionally well. As an added bonus, the game also offers great replay value by offering grades for each level. If you're a completionist who wants the highest score on all levels, then you can find it in this game.

This game came roughly 10 years ago. I decided to revisit it just to see why it was so successful. The fact that it can take any audio file that you have and make a race track out of it is crazy! Even crazier is the amount of different ways you are able to play. With a broad range of gameplay styles to choose from and an infinite selection of songs (limited only by your own playlist) this game was genius. It also came out during the high times of guitar hero and rock band. It was a quick way of getting a similar to those games when you were on your computer. There was also a solid setup for online leadership boards if you chose to chase after the highest score. This game deserved its success and praise back in the day and it is still a ton of fun to revisit it now.

I have arrived at Arma II on my never ending crusade to review every game that I have in my Steam library. This game came out in 2010, so with that in mind, I have tried to give it the benefit of the doubt in terms of graphics, audio and gameplay.

Arma II does its best to be a military simulation game. With that comes an enormous amount of controls needed to play the game. I think this military simulation game falls more into simulation than it does game. There are an insane amount of weapons, vehicles and outcomes from your choices in the single player game. I wouldn't say that the AI is the most advanced. Movement is also very clunky and distracting. Sadly due to my limited time to review games I do not have enough to go into the full depth that this game demands. If you like uber realistic simulations, than this is a great game. If you like something a little more fast paced and exciting, than it's probably best to look somewhere else.

Hello. I'm happy you're reading this. If you are, that means you'll have the opportunity to enter a maze constructed with acid and finished with a few dashes of magic mushrooms. When the fog of marijuana clouds has cleared, you'll be able to walk into the Antichamber. You will walk forward only to find out you've been going backwards. Up is yellow and down is... how the hell am I in this room again?!

The creator of this game is brilliant. This is one of the best puzzle games I have ever played. It bends your mind in creative ways and always keeps guessing. It's hard to tell if you're making progress and then you will have a breakthrough. The maze gets more complex as you are aloud to interact with it in different ways. Once completed, you get a sense of accomplishment having escaped your hardcore trip with DMT. I would recommend this game for anyone even at full price. It was released in 2013 and I still think it is worth every penny. Even if you don't finish the entire game, the experience itself is worth it.

Another perspective is straight forward and executes on its core mechanics perfectly. This indie title sticks to its original concept and proceeds to build on the complexity of each puzzle in a steady fashion. There are bits of pacing within the gameplay that help give a breather from otherwise constantly solving more complex puzzle over and over again, which is really welcomed. It also does a good job setting up atmosphere with its chosen color palette, lighting and music. I did not find the story/text to be too compelling for me, but I'm not much for story. The graphics aren't the most impressive, but that can take a backseat since the overall mechanics are implemented so well. Some of the levels actually ended up making me a bit dizzy due to some inverting, but after getting my barrings I found it to be a really cool design. Is it worth $6? If you have the money and can support the indie dev, I say 100% do it. I picked this up with a humble bundle and ended up pleasantly surprised how well Shaun Spalding did focusing on simple mechanics and building on them.

Early Access Review
Kudos to the person for putting themselves out there and making this thing. I will commend anyone for putting out the effort and trying to create something.

That being said, I have no idea what they're going for here. It feels like Tower Unity, but is trying to make a play off of arcades. The arcades seem to just be youtube clips? I'm not really sure. You can create your own lobby and maybe integrate your steam library so that it feels like you're playing your game in a virtual world. When you mix in multiplayer components with this, however, you just get a world of arcade cabinets that play youtube videos. It needs a ton more development to get to good place and Tower Unite is already leagues ahead of this. I'm not sure how I attained a licence to this, but I do hope it gave the creator some money. I cannot recommend this as there are other products that are better out there, but I do commend the creator for trying.

I remember playing Alien vs Predator 2 way back in 2001. It was an amazing game that had 3 different campaigns and a great multiplayer scene. This game... is almost that. I have some pretty big nostalgia from the 2001 game and was hoping the magic would come back here.

It offers 3 different campaigns and tries to show every aspect this universe has to offer. Sadly the design choices on some of the levels just come off a bit clunky and do not flow together too well. It's hard to build a single player campaign. Adding 3 into a single game seems nearly impossible. With that in mind, you have to forgive the development team for some of the design flaws. The marine campaign has great horror aspects to it and the alien/predator campaigns make you're on the hunt.

Some of the voice acting/writing is pretty bad. I've also already mentioned some of the level designs are rough too. On top of the level design, I'd also say some of the controls are a bit clunky too. I also wish shooting the Marine guns felt a little better. They just don't carry an impact to them that makes them feel satisfying. When playing an alien, it should flow seamlessly, but instead movements just don't flow. Multiplayer is now officially dead from what I experienced. It isn't too surprising since this came out in 2010, but it still sucks that I wasn't able to experience it.

Play it if you got it and but it if it's on sale. It won't be the best game, but if you enjoy the Alien vs Predator franchise, this deserves a play through.

Doing a run through of all games in my steam library. Bought this years ago and remember it being a pretty solid let down. I wanted to escape WoW and instead stumbled into a mmo grindfest. Quests weren't that interesting and flying was simply gliding. This isn't flying. It's falling with style.

The entire world is set around floating islands and you are tasked to explore this world as you make a pilgrimage from temple to temple. It reminds me of Zelda games in terms of world exploration. From the very beginning you are open to fly anywhere and explore. The flying mechanics are extremely satisfying as you cut through waterfalls and clouds. The world itself is very beautiful even when using simple low-poly graphics. There are many hidden treasures and achievements hidden throughout the world and it can be exciting running into a dance circle of crabs when flying about.

Some downfalls of this game start with the puzzle and platforming mechanics. They are extremely simple. I wouldn't come here if you're looking for a challenge, but it is a great escape for some relaxing world exploration. If you're the type of gamer that needs a bit more hand holding, this game may also be a challenge for you. It definitely emphasizes open world exploration and when given direction by NPCs, they only point you in a vague direction. There are beacons of light to help guide your way, but can be easily overlooked if you're not paying attention. I enjoy not having my hand held and gravitate towards games that trust me to figure things out, but I know that isn't for everyone.

It is a solid game that feels like it has a few missing components. I would pick this up on sale in a heartbeat, but I'm not too sure if I'd pay full retail for it.
