A fantastic game! Very well done.

I just wrapped up playing this and it was amazing. Lots of fun areas to explore lots of neat weapons and playstyles, and the base building mechanic was surprisingly good. I love the clear Half Life inspiration.

With that said...
The ending was pretty disappointing, I get that we are not supposed to fully understand what happened, but the build up was pretty weak at the very end.

I also can not really see how exactly the world is "doomed." Maybe if that weird stuff started splitting open the sky or something it would be a bit more clear, but right now, this still feels like a problem that GATE could solve if it really wanted to. IDK, maybe I needed to read the email terminals a bit more closely.

This game could also benefit from a bit of post game content. After I beat the game I thought: "what do I do now? I guess I could keep making my base better, gather more materials, try out new weapons, etc... ...for what purpose though? There is nothing left to do..."
If there were some random extra areas that you could go explore it might not be so bad, but that is not currently the case. Though the portal world system opens up many options for adding post game content.

Why is the stealth armor SO HEAVY???? Please just make it light with no defense, or even NEGATIVE defense. WHY does it need to put me in the third weight tier?????


I say these things because I love this game, truly.

The heroes' journey, the game.

I was honestly really looking forward to playing this one day, and I am glad I did.

I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

A neat little mascot horror indie game.

Nothing that will blow you away, but it is fine enough.
(The ending song actually surprised me a bit)

Very fun and well designed.

A ton of different characters and many unique playstyles. An argument could be made about how viable each individual character is, but with one exception playing this with friends is totally fine even if some characters are a bit stronger than others. I can not speak in regards to competitive play.

I love the animation style that Arc Systems can up with. It seems so obvious now that I know it and it works great!

Read the EULA first.

The game had some weird restrictions from what I remember, I could not reload saves after doing reloading a number of times. Unless I was willing to make an account with IO Interactive I think? (It has been a bit)

Super challenging and incredibly fun.

This game has fantastic top down shooter gameplay and a wild bleak atmosphere to compliment it.
The story for this game is genuinely gripping. I highly recommend this to just about anyone (that can stomach it).
