One of my favorite games and one of the best Valve Games,

The world has been taken by the combine, some powerful alien force, and you are Gordon Freeman, you come back from statis after the events of Half-Life 1 in a distopian city called city 17, the game has great story telling, and it is really fun to play and you might want to replay it many times after you have finished it.

They came from hl1, when gordon freeman fails at lab test, it makes a portal to xen, which is where aliens come from
