If you are having crashing issues, turn off controller vibration and run in Windows 7 compatibility mode. this has fixed crashing issues for most people. As for performance, runs smooth as butter if locked to 60 fps with Nvidia control panel or AMD's equivalent. Absolutely fantastic series that I am sad to have missed out on and am glad to have finally enjoyed it!
