Top 10 Songs (Yes, I like metal)
👿1. Infant Annihilator - The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution🔥 (I was bred by the scar of Infant Annihilator and technical deathcore through this album, specifically the title track. Bill Williams' low growls are absolutely demonic, and I've always been fascinated by Infant Annihilator's insane technicality and the taboo topics their songs delve into. I'd say The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch is a better album overall, but I have such a strong emotional connection to their first album that I could never let go of.)

🎸2. Thy Art Is Murder - Laceration Penetration😵 (My favorite Thy Art Is Murder song. This will always be my favorite song to play on the drums, it's so catchy. This was a song from their first album to have CJ McMahon on vocals, and he absolutely crushed it for years to come. It's sad he's no longer a part of the band, but I have high hopes for the band's future with Tyler Miller.)

🥁3. Suicide Silence - Genocide😎(Suicide Silence is such a classic band. I grew up listening to them back in the early 2010s. It's sad that Mitch Lucker is no longer with us, but this song is such a slammer. The guitar riff around 0:17 in the Century Media release of the song gets stuck in my head all the time.)

👶4. Dying Fetus - Descend Into Depravity😬 (This song has one of the catchiest riffs I've ever listened to. It's around exactly 2 minutes into the song. Not only that, but John Gallagher's growls are fantastic, and it's crazy how these guys have been able to consistently release great metal throughout the years while only having 3 dudes in the band.)

😰5. Confide - The View From My Eyes🥁(This is my favorite metalcore song from the Myspace "crabcore" era, I guess you could say. The clean singing in this song is fantastic and the breakdown at the end will forever send shivers down my spine. Unfortunately, this band split up not long after I started listening to them which was pretty sad.)

🥶6. We Came As Romans - To Plant a Seed🎸(This will forever be my favorite song by We Came As Romans. I love the guitar part during the intro and Kyle Pavone was such a talented singer. It's upsetting that he passed away, but the legacy of the band lives on. I'm happy to see that Dave and the rest of the guys have kept the band going many years after Kyle's death.)

🔊7. A Night In Texas - I, Godless🥵 (This band is the pinnacle of Australian deathcore, second to Thy Art Is Murder. They've gone through a lot of changes in their line-up, especially with their vocalists, but this song will always give me chills. The part after Rheese screams, "I am godless!" when the guitars come in will always be my favorite part of the song.)

😱8. Nile - The Inevitable Degradation of Flesh🌊(Out of all the bands on my list, this band likely has the most unique and consistent theme throughout their music. All of their songs discuss ancient Egyptian mythology and religion, which is super cool to me. I will never be able to play George Kollias' drum part on this song in particular, his techniques are so extreme to the point of ridiculousness. He is the most mechanically skilled metal drummer I've ever looked up to. The guitar work on this song is very catchy as well, it's very fast-paced and technical while also being great to listen to.)

😈9. Immortal Disfigurement - Dragged Through The Inferno🔥 (This is the band on my list with the most controversy surrounding it. CJ McCreery is a great vocalist, maybe not as good as CJ McMahon of Thy Art Is Murder in my opinion, but they have both been monumental vocalists in the deathcore scene. McCreery was kicked off Lorna Shore, then formed his own band named "Immortal Disfigurement" after Will Ramos took the reigns of Lorna Shore. This was their first song, and it is an absolute monster. I love Josh Freeman's guitar solo, and CJ McCreery absolutely kills it with his growls. I personally think CJ McCreery was a better fit for Lorna Shore than Will Ramos is, but that's just my opinion.)

🤩10. Shrine of Malice - Carnal Beast🩸(I only started listening to Shrine of Malice very recently. Greg Gilbert is a very talented vocalist and this song really showcases that. It made my top 10 because of the transition into the breakdown at the middle of the song, and the symphonic outro. Both parts combined with Greg's vocals are very well-done, and I can't wait to hear more from this band in the near future.)
