As a fan of the "boomer" shooters regarding the aesthetics and being an appreciator toward the general perception of the people that used to design the old fps games, I had my hopes a little bit high for Serious Sam.

First time trying it ever. And after just the first 10 minutes I feel like I'm doing work instead of playing. The game is so so repetitive.

I understand the main alure behind the game and the "waves" and some random jumpscares, but the enemies were boring after a period of time. Just rushing brainessly toward you is not so fun.
I'm not gonna lie I had a little giggle in the beginning because of the 3D models and the sound of the enemies but that's it.
The gunplay, I understand that the game tried to respect the old shooters aspect, but no recoil feels so wrong I don't know why. Actually firing with a shotgun felt very frustrating and not quite satisfying to begin with.

The only thing that I liked very much is without a doubt the level design. Egypt feels good to move within and give a sense of freedom of mouvement.

Summary, I'm disappointed but then again I placed my hopes high.
Been an okay experience but I would not recommend it.
