are you demented? gate was about to be popped, person was about to be hooked, risk of bw being triggered was too high, gate was on 8, hook was on 5, where as another gate was on 5, yes, if the gate was on 5 it would've made sense to pop, however, it was on , basically half map distance away, so, no, you cant blame a not popped gate when you decided to rush all the way to the gate, instead of looping the killer on shack with pallet, and let someone open the gate. the killer was chasing you, tunneling you, and camping hook, EVERYTHING about it screamed bw, so please, mr "considerably less experience", dont open ur mouth if you dont know what you're talking about.
