Best shooter in a while

Honestly a solid PC port- love the accessibility options and customizable difficulty. Played this game for the first time on the PS3 about 12 years ago and it's nice to revisit it.

Was excited to play the game again because of the Halo 3 update- got the 'black rectangle of death' at startup after waiting ten minutes for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game to load. Had to go into my registry and delete a bunch of credentials, FINALLY starts up. Try to join a game with friends, the UI crashes and I get kicked from the lobby, game freezes.

Bungie figured this ♥♥♥♥ out 20+ years ago in 2004 with Halo 2. Joining a game was seamless even with my garbage early 2000s Comcast internet- I have symmetrical gigabit now. How does a multi billion dollar company ♥♥♥♥ up so bad that you can't even join a multiplayer game???

I finally got into a match after a HALF HOUR of troubleshooting, and I forgot how much this game is just mediocre. It seems like everything about it has some dumb corporate decision to drive monetization. "Oh we gotta put annoying Dad rock in the menus because it does better with the focus groups than the classic iconic Halo music." It's a little bit better after launch but just feels like a pale imitation of what these games used to be.

I've been playing Halo 1 since the Xbox days in 2001. I went to the Halo 2 midnight launch and got the collectors edition. I still have my 'Legendary Helmet' from Halo 3. I placed Onyx in competitive when Infinite first launched because I was so excited- but this game just isn't it. These games used to have a heart and soul, but Infinite is just corporate slop now. It's a shame.

Sorry can't recommend this:
-The performance is ABYSMAL, like absolutely terrible. I'm getting about 10 frames per second on a 3080ti in 4k. I tried lowering Lumen to low, and turning off reflections, putting the model detail to high, it's still maybe 20 fps at best.
-The physics are super janky. The Gravity Gun makes objects jitter terribly. Certain objects can't be stacked on each other, or they freak out, ex. you can't stack a crate on another crate. This was figured out in 2004 when Half Life 2 released.
-None of the creative level design from Half Life 2 is there. It has all of the props from Half Life 2 remade, but none of the cool functionality that Ravenholm had in the original. The Valve magic just isn't there. This is just a linear corridor shooter.

Good luck to the devs on the full release, but I wouldn't even consider this demo in a shippable state, there's a ton of work to be done.

Probably one of the best games of all time. This is like my 20th play through. I've bought it three times on different platforms.
