ETA AGAIN: WHERE IS THE QUICKSAVE???? JFC

I've played all of the Bioware games and I'm a huge Mass Effect and Dragon Age fan. This one is a lot of fun. The combat is fun and fluid. Exploring is decent. Skill progression feels rewarding. the dialog is lacking compared to previous entries but overall, if you liked the others you'll like this one.

ETA: I have a good amount of hours in it at this point, and there are a few cracks in the facade. It feels like they hold your hand through very simple puzzles, and give you zero clues on more difficult puzzles. It feels more like a puzzle game than a Dragon Age game, which I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck at, so there's that. Also, one of the quests is bugged (For "Last Rites," come from the north and not the south) so I spent like 30 minutes trying to find something that didn't exist.

I get the burnout now that people are talking about. While skill progression feels meaningful, companion and story progression does not. I find myself rotating through party members regularly (to my detriment, since they don't skill up if they're not in combat) because nobody feels like they have any "must have" skills, and nobody has a relationship with me that feels worth anything.

It's fun, I still think it's worth the money, but it definitely hurts it to class it alongside any of the Dragon Age games because it definitely does not feel like one. Worth picking up on sale, I would say. But maybe not otherwise.
