I am still playing, but this is neutral so I must lean negative.

Game is well make, but in no way well fleshed out. Progression is in distinct stages. Biomes are not interesting variety to discover, they are new temples in a zelda games that you must do in order. The world is massive with nothing to truly find.
I was in the mood for this type of game, so I'm gonna keep going for a bit, but if you try it I recommend playing until you wonder about it's future, get some mods, play some more, and call it done.

Not bad, just.. kinda flat. Not engaging. Afraid I can't really put it to words.

Like, this is really bad.
The tediousness alone of constantly being interrupted for what feels like infinite giant text, one sentence at a time story is maddening. And while I didn't understand the bad comments on the "tower defense" sections because I love tower defense, now that I've played it... omg. This isn't tower defense. This is hope you put stuff in the right place and then watch the game play itself. You can use spells some, but that is a crutch, not a feature.
Then.. the hero that stands in the middle of town while a boss walks around destroying everything. This game is flat out bad.

I have tried so many times to like DS and DST... but I can't. It just isn't fun.
Spent a lot of time getting some key mods, running a dedicated server, trying to get started, doing endless, but it is brutally punishing and void of information.
And is not fun.
I love Minecraft. I love Terraria. Love Oxygen Not Included.
This is painful.

Great world, great game.
Just makes me sad no one reads anymore. I miss Forgotten Realms books.

Loving it so far. Still quite early on, but it works well. I say worth a buy now for tower defense junkies, but if not so much a TD nut then I have confidence it will be worth it for just about everyone once complete.
