Despite what my FlatOut 2 review says, if somebody approached me and ask whether FlatOut 2 is worth playing, I would say "No. Play FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage instead. It's basically the same game as FO2 except with better graphics and more content."

But here's a fair warning though; unfortunately, this is one of those games sold on Steam that would not work right out of the box until you copy some patch files into the game's directory. This stems from the game's utilization of Games for Windows Live as its DRM scheme, which was shut down many years ago.

When you first launch the game, the game was supposed to ask you the CD key that came with your purchase. However, since the DRM service that was used by this game has long been shutdown, the game would straight up not launch at all. Fortunately, the files that are necessary to launch this game can be easily found online, and after you downloaded the files, it's as easy of a task as copying those files into the game's main folder.

As for the game itself, like I said earlier, it basically has the same gameplay as FlatOut 2 but with better graphics, better support for controllers (heck, I was surprised that my Xbox One controller worked with this game right out of the box), and more content. Unfortunately, though this is my personal opinion, I wish the game kept the same soundtracks that FlatOut 2 has. Fortunately, if you do prefer to have FlatOut 2 soundtracks played in this game over the soundtracks that this game has to offer, once again, it's as easy as finding the appropriate soundtrack files online and copying them into the game's folder.

Highly recommended for all arcade racing game fans out there!
